Nothing too much. Just a 2" High Lift Kit along with 27" Mudzillas.

Mike, I hope you have gotten some seat time on that thing before taking it down to compete. The big bikes lifted tend to stand up a lot more than what you are used too. I would either put water in the tires of add a weight rack to the front.

Just a suggestion.

Thing looks mean though...

we're still getting snow here... so the only mud is 1-2" deep right now... but I plan on trying to rip around a little on Saturday, on the gravel road, to get some seat time on it, & too see if I need the extra control arms I made ( I'd like to run it with out them if possible )...

BTW... the tire / wheel combo is a little heavier than a normal ATV tire & wheel, & coupled with the weight of the gear boxes down low, the quad actually has a way lower center of gravity than one typically that tall...

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

How heavy is the bike overall?? I hear the pits over there have gotten a lot nastier since last year. I hear they are pure muck…

Posted by: Mike Walker

I've actually lightened up the quad alot this year... even with all the added beef, it's still lighter than the Polaris's ( for example )... not counting the hubs & rice & canes... but the rear hubs are right at 50 lbs each, the fronts at 60, & the hubs are multiple bolt pattern, so I can run either the 37's, 33's, or my 28" Zillas, or the stockers for that matter, if I wanted... in fact, the quad is now 6" wider than it was 2 weeks ago, because while it worked well with the 22" or 16" wheels of the bigger tires, I need more clearance for the offset of a standard 5 & 2 front ATV wheel for the 28's...

BTW... full range of turning, even with the 37's...

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

If it's lighter than a Polaris it's most likely going to stand up when you hit the deep stuff....most polaris' even with weight added stand up in the pits...

Posted by: Mike Walker

we'll see in one week...

are you going ???

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

I don't have a babysitter...

Not to mention that a buddy has monster grizz doing some "experimenting" with some new ideas...I would go and run some of the other classes, but $500 for and 8 hour drive ain't worth it...

one more after taking it through the snow...

... got some tweaking to do, but it handle just as expected...

This has to be one of the ugliest quads ive ever seen. Nothing on it flows.

this one look a little nicer then...

... or are you just being mean ???

Posted by: Nick110

No.. that looks way better. I just think on the green one it has to much going on. It would prolly look better without the stacks on it.

that is one BAD t-rex

Posted by: Mike Walker

RIDA... those are actually the 22's that I was going to mount my rice & canes on... ( might have looked slightly different with a set of 37" tractor treads )... but I found a company that could narrow up a set of 22" military wheels, & laser cut the centers for me instead...

this might give the lifted red one a bit more perspective... Mike Pendland out for a ride on our red quad, with me tagging along on a stock Prairie wearing 28" Mudzilla's...

This pic is the 1st round of eliminations of the heat winners in the open class at the '06 Mud Nats... the green quad at the far right is the Gorilla axle quad from the Indy show ( pictured a few posts up, & much cleaner ) the quad next to me is also a very lifted quad... & in reality, all the quads in this pic are huge, some just look bigger than others... BTW... I won this round & moved on to the finals after this race...

Posted by: atvRiDa400ex

like the lifs bro and like the mudd nice pics!

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

Now, now, now...he did say you had 24" in the front and back, but he said you have 22" under the middle of the bike.

You should know we have to measure the lowest point...

Posted by: Mike Walker

so how high is too high ??? the green Gorilla quad was 2" higher than mine, but I still eliminated it, even with a completely stock clutch motor & ignition...

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

That Gorilla quad looks more like 10" higher than yours judging from the ground clearance.

Posted by: Mike Walker

well the suspension is still fully functioning & stock spring rate... the measurements were taken, without my fat butt sitting on it ...

Posted by: MudMonsterGrizz

If you are heavy enough to make that quad sit down that much you might want to consider a diet Mike lol...

Seriously though Scott's bike looks WAY higher than yours...no offense....that's just how it looks....

Posted by: bansheemorphine

how does that brute force handle with the suspension like that?and those wheels and tires?

Posted by: Mike Walker

steers hard, but we have an easy fix for that, otherwise it handles even better than stock, in short steep hills, easily goes up & down the road ditches by our place that are too steep to mow, & would require a lot of body english on a stock quad... had it rolling over 50 mph on the gravel road...

some of these pics were taken in the fairly steep hills suronding the competition pit, at the '06 Nats...
