My 400 only starts in neutral. WHy wont it start in gear? my freinds 400 starts in gear.

do you have the stock clutch lever and perch? If not there is a lil switch that when you pull in the stock clutch it allows you to start in any gear but when you put after market clutch perches and levers you cant put that switch on so you have to take the two wires on the switch and connect them and then you can start it like your friends, in any gear. Thats what i did cuz i have asv levers and perch.

just look by the clutch.. If you still have the boot there just move it out of the way and you should see 2 wires aimlessly hangin around.. Splice em together and wrap in tape....good to go
