Steam coming off radiator

I just got evans coolant today. i flushed it with prep fluid and did everything im supposed to. after i ride it and rev it, steam comes outta the radiator near the bottom where it goes trough the hose and into the engine. its never done this until today when i put the evans in it. i thought my fan would kick on if my coolant got too hot, and it hasnt kicked on once. has anyone ever had any of this happen? thanks in advance

Did you take the hose off to drain? If so, did you make sure it was tight when you put it back together?

yes i took it off. im not sure if i tightened it when i ran it to temp or not. its tightened right now tho and it steams still

Well, the different type fluid is not causing it. It's got to be something that you changed. Did you put the correct amount in the overflow?

now i did lol. that was the problem. i only filled the radiator and didnt fill the overflow. thanks for the help

OK i take that back. i rode for about a half hour today and the radiator was full of steam. i think the coolant is getting wayyyyyy too hot and my fan has never kicked on. i think my thermostat isnt working...does anyone know what the problem might be?

the same sort of thing happened to my cousin but he had to buy a whole new radiator b/c somthing rubbed a hole in it

it could be a sensor or something

Check where the fan is. If the bracket has ever been bent or anything, the fan may be touching the radiator. This may have caused a hole, or the fan itself may be hung on the radiator not allowing it to turn.

The thermostat may also be bad, as you said.

Do this.

When the bike COOL, take the radiator cap off and crank it up. After a while, you should see the coolant start to circulate.Don't run it for a long time though! It will start to overflow if you do.

If it is not circulating, the impeller on the motor may be bad. It it is, then it's probably a thermostat sensor or something along those lines.

how can i see the coolant circulating tho? i cant really see inside the radiator when i take the cap off

I think it was his fender bracket that rubbed a hole in his radiator. It rattled loose while riding and i guess it just kept rubbing until it woar a hole. check that

I did the evans swap today and my fan came on,u sure u didnt just spill old fluid on parts that get hot?
