How to change oil

I know this is a dumb question but I just bought a used Z400 (2004) The idiot I bought it from has the dry sump tank over filled with oil. I want to change it and refill it before I ride it. I am not sure of the proper oil change maethod on this machine. My last one was not a dry sump.

Please let me know, I am anxious to ride it.
Thanks in advance!

u gotta drain first the black tank near the front of the quad (thats where most of the oil is) and theres a drain screw on the bottom of the engine. drain both and put i think its 2000 mL of oil in the black tank. if u got a manual, verify that amount, im not exactly sure of the amount. torque both bolts to around 35 ft.lbs

You should really change the oil filter as well.

I'd change the oil filter every time I change the oil. It also doesn't hurt to let the bike run for a few minutes and warm the oil up. It makes it easier to drain.

2.2 quarts with a filter
