I even plan to go with the original Htrack radials too!
I wished i was rich and could afford to park it but hell noooo!lol
Thanx to everyone for the compliments!
Is my bike really worth twice what i paid tho? just curious?
yes its worth that. but if i was selling that i would have 5000 or more on it. you got a good deal. i would have that in a glass case in my liveing room. but yes it is worth alot more. keep it dont get rid of it and that would go for big down the road.

I don't care for AC Racing stuff. Their stuff is made for the birds!
Those foot pegs are custom made by WalshRaceCraft. Mike constructed the mounts out of chromoly tubing with a CNC'd mounting plate. The teeth are stainless steel and are removable/replaceable. They are probably the strongest things on the bike. They grab your feet and do not let go!
Thanks for the comments!

Well what I ment was that u do not have the nerf bars.....I know those Walsh pegs are strong and that makes them even more dangerous for you feet. Get those nerfs man!!!It will look even better as well!

oakwood is an old airplain hanger in spanaway washington the stuff you see hanging is insulation , kasey kaine of stock cars ran here as a kid and some of the fastest kids in the west are from this track, look on the worcsracing.com atv and look at the youth classes and you'll see washingtonians

what all did it take to get a cr85 motor in a r frame. what frame brackets ect..
Posted by: aasco90
the bottom motor mount on the r lines up with the 85 and then made front mounts and mounts in back ,i did not cut any of the stock mounts on the r , i can still go back to 250r motor just by cutting the new mounts off but this quad will be getting a 250 four stroke motor in a few years when the 250 classes start up, raptor 250 , lt 250 ect, i will take some pics of mounts.

how did the pipe and silencer mount up.
Posted by: aasco90
the pipe i had to cut and twist in two places but did not shorten or lengthen the pipe so it wouldnt change the tuning , and the kick starter when you open it to start i exstended it out 2 1/2 inches to clear the frame, and used rebal gears conversion sprockets to a 428 chain instead of 420 that come on cr85s, gearing is 13-52 and thats it and yes i was in the garage for a why'll
but well wirth it because my son says he wouldnt sell it for a millon dollors
.
by the way kidsonquads.com get these quads down to 245 pounds by using a hollow axle and a no link lighter swingarm but i will use the cr500 link set up because it works so well and deal with the 10-15 pounds differents, last race out of the burm in third gear pined hit the 20 yards of deep woops and skimed across the top like a pro
.

also i got a ster stem that was forward 1 inch, cut it and turned it 180 so now its up 3inches and back 1 inch, the foot pegs are up 1inch and forward 1 inch , now he sits on it just right

every thing is imported now days... even the motors an the artic cats they are built by Suzuki or Kawi and then shipped to the plant and bolted up... and those are built in the USA well sopose to be

The G has a few mods...volk wheels, tein flex suspension, hks exhaust, intake mods, and an ever-changing exterior. it has been taking most of my money the last few years
As for the R, I think it will be a XC/MX mix build...colour will probably be black, gold, and chrome
here is a little bigger pic with a couple of my other toys (i have a 300 fourtrax 4x4 as well, but it is way too ugly to photograph)

I bought this off Ebay a couple months ago, and it's at my buddy's house now. He drove to Missouri to get it for me, and he said it flat-out hauls for a 265. It won't look like this for too long (read sig).
Here are some details:
Laeger's 250R narrow chassis
Roll Design Lobo II +3 a-arms
Laeger's CR500 link swingarm
LSR Axcaliber +4 axle
Custom Axis long-travel shocks front and rear
Curtis Sparks 265R
LRD pipe and silencer

are you puttin a kawi kxf 250f motor in there?

I'll be using a KXF250 Tecate-4 engine with a 330 stroker kit in it. It will actually be 326cc, hence "KXF326 Project." I'll get all the benefits of the ultimate 250 engine and then some. If you've ever seen the Roll Design KX250-powered quads that were built for Bill Ballance and William Yokley between 99 and 02, then that will give you an idea of the finished product.

ok im sorry to all of you that think im talkin off a bit but i have one last question on this...
why did they just take the kx250 motor out of the bike im sure that is way better than the tecate motor, its already PVed and all that and it should already pump out alot oh Hp from being in a bike...
Posted by: Cr85rRida
thats like saying take a cr250 motor and drop it in a R.
The R motor is beefer and im pretty sure its more powerful then a cr250 motor in a QUAD chassis. THe bikes motors are great but i dont think it would be worth the hassel because they cant deliver as well with all the extra weight.

I'm assuming you'll be doing this when you get back stateside? But when you do this Pleeeeaaaase make a thread somewhere and take lots of detailed pictures. I wanted to do this with my custom frame and get the frame built for the motor because from everything I've read, the Tecate motor was the tops of the 250's, the chassis just sucked. I decided not to because I wanted it all honda.
Just curious if you plan on hacking the Laeger frame?
Posted by: TheNewn
Another reason for sticking to quad motors might be the fact that dirt bike R's aren't counter balanced...which blows in a quad...
Posted by: Waynoka Local
Woodsracer144, they did use the KX250 engine in them. Doug Roll built the chassis and swingarms specifically for those engines. They were very fast, but like was mentioned, they didn't have a counter-balancer, and they vibrated a lot. They were eventually replaced with Honda 250R engines because the KX250 engines would wear the riders out. I know, I know, an all green Kawasaki with a Honda engine in it.
I'm not worried about the power at all. A big-bore Tecate-4 engine is no slouch. Not by a long shot.
250Renvy, don't worry. I will be making a thread about my project. I might not be able to update it every day, but I will tend to it. I plan on taking thousands of pictures along the way, of which I may post the majority online. About the chassis, I wouldn't say "hack" but modify. At a minimum, I'll need to move the lower engine mounts and modify the swingarm so it attaches to the engine cases. I'll fabricate a new head mount because they are removeable, and the front mounts will be cut from plate steel. The tabs for the front mounts aren't going to be touched. I have access to a plasma cutter, TIG welder, Bridgeport end mill, lathe, and any other machine shop equipment I might need. Being in the Army has its advantages.
I hate Frankenstein quads that look like they were put together with JB Weld and bubble gum. This is going to be one that people go out of their way to look at. I'll just have to wipe the drool off it a lot.
The pic My88R posted is similar to what mine will look like, and I have that one in my KXF326 Project folder, but I'll be using Fullbore fenders now that they are finally offering them in green. This is about 90% what you'll see when I'm done.

We have here probably one of the largest collections of R's I ever seen personally. I suppose this thread earned a right to be sticky finally^)
Cheers to everyone!

how was the gas gas... was it a nice quad or not really?
Posted by: Kirt13
CT 330r built by Ed Teixeria at Teixeria Tech.
This is just a brand new quad. I started the built with nothing and bought all of the parts needed piece by piece. I bought everything online and had it send to my buddies shop. We put it all together in about 2 weeks. It went from brand new parts all over the floor to a screaming fast quad in just 2 weeks. The only Honda parts on this are the brake calipers and the kickstart. I has a ESR kickstart lever but it didn't work right and took it off.
EVERYTHING is aftermarket from the electrical to the bolts and nuts. I have about $12,000 in it total. I have pics of the original built last year on page, i think around 50 on here. I have done a few things since then.
Enjoy the pics!!

The set below my bike are Plus 3 LT's and are for sale on eBay...
Those arms look like Laegers.
Posted by: krazykarl
i liked the gasgas alot. only problem was its on of the earlier ones, with the odd front end, to much caster. so it had stiff steerin, i rode a later one and it was sweet. i was gointo modify the a-arms by puttin a set of heims on the uppers so i can adjust ut the caster, but ended up sellin b4 i had the chance. very reliable, and a smooth powerband,(nothin like my ported 330, its a freakin light switch) and it always got looks where ever i rode.
P.S. - i love seeing all the Rs on here, we're a dieing breed, in my riding group im the only one on an R
Posted by: korniev
Kirt 13 wow that is a sweet one! Thanks for posting it here!!!
Posted by: woodsracer144
yeah i know what your talkin about the 250r dieing... to me the 250r was the best quad built i really wish that they would of kept building it... i think that they should bring it back... i know that it is the time for 4-strokes... but to me a nice build 250r is unstopable... with a good rider on it... my buddys is one of few that are still racin them... he has a full race quad but shes goin down the road now sadly... im gonna pick on up some time soon... once i get some more $$$ i my hands on one but i need to sell a quad...
TO ALL THE GUYS THAT HAVE POSTED PIC'S ON HERE I WANNA THANK YOU THIS IS ON OF FEW THINGS I LOOK FOWARD TO LOOK AT WHEN I COME ON... KEEP IT COMEIN!!!

Lets make this a sticky....
I thought I posted already but I couldn't find it. These are my 2. The first one is a 76mm pro-x with 4mm crank. LLSR frame. Everything polished, chromed, or zinc plated. It's in pieces now doing some dyno work and getting a pro-trax front end.

This one is a 72mm pro-x. A little more basic. Needs some chassis components -- it's jealous.

Those ol school shots are so cool, i remember being a kid when the first R (TRX) came out.... My neighbor had one ,used to do crazy stunts on it all the time and we would try to keep up on our little 50's ....He had his friends open the doors to sears and rode it in one side and out the other lol

Ahh the memories...

Just a little thing to throw out there guys...When you quote someone...please delete all the pictures they put up. and only use their words...
Its kind of annoying to have to scroll through all the same pictures over and over again to read 4 words. And its just that more some people with slow internet have to download.
food for thought...
