Thanks Ya, Memorial weekend got stopped and tested at 102 dec. Been 4-5 times since and have avoided any tickets... I get followed by the rangers/sherrif, but I lose them and hang low for a bit Im looking into having Dave moore build me a carbon fiber silencer. That will get it down to 97 or so... Still the law is 93

Posted by: Creech52

Dave Moore...havent heard that name in ages, hes the one that built the polonda motors right?

It was a full burnt out Ford Turbo Deisel. Looked like a around a 2001 model not sure.

Posted by: woodsracer144

oh my... i would get a trailer out there if i could and take it!

Posted by: mcboomport

The color needs to be seen in person. Its actually black, with a ton of tiny red flake. The red anodizing matches perfectly. It turned out a little more reddish than I had expected, but I'm happy with it. I have about 6 more nuts/bolts that need chromed and I have a few more billet pieces that need anodized.

The motor is on first bore, ported mid/top 4-mil stroker, 38 A/S.

I think I'm gonna agree with havinnoj, I think sand bikes need some paint. I am going to paint the plastics/ seat within a year or so.. It's been a tough decision because I'm scared how it will hold up, but I've come this far...

I am finishing an 86 right now that will be my play bike.

I am going to do a frame up on my wifes 86 next year.

Posted by: mcboomport

you gotta love the heat tape

Posted by: mcboomport

LAST ONE

Posted by: 1Sick250R

Hey Boomport, that's a sweet duner. I see you're running 9 paddles, what's all done to the engine?

Posted by: mcboomport

First bore- Just mid-top port and 4mil stroker-38 a/s carb, lightened flywheel.

When I bought the bike, the motor just had clean up porting, stock carb, had K&N, V-force reeds, Paul Turner pipe (dented by the frame, eventually had a huge crack at the frame mount) and had 10 paddles.. It was retarded to ride... haha. I immediatley sold the tires, and I tried some 8 paddles and could not stand them either!! I don't know what it was about the 8 paddles.

Before I rebuilt the motor, I put the 38 a/s on, lightened the flywheel, and bought the 9 paddles. If you kept the R's up and dumped the clutch, It would launch very good, but the bike just didn't have enough power. I would have to feather the clutch and downshift a lot when hill climbing.

With the new motor the R's stay up very easily and it has a great amount of power for not being a big bore. I have only had the bike out once this year, and had some motor problems right off the bat, but the 9 paddles seemed to work great. I will give you more input when I take the bike out again.

Posted by: mcboomport

by the way, I love your bike man.

Thanks bro. Those red fullbores you got look great, but some custom paint work to go with the candy frame color would make it sick.

Hey Sick ..... that bike looks dope. If you ride Dumont, give me a holler so I can check that out in person. If you had not noticed, there has been a steady decline of 250r's in our sand box in the last few years so your contribution to the dying 250r population is more than welcome

Posted by: norcalduner

Damn, you guys make my quad look like a POS that I'm almost embarrassed to post up an updated pic of my clunker

Hey Norcal, thanks for the compliment. I deffenitly ride Dumont. Ill be out there Oct 3-5, and 31-2 for halloween. I have noticed there's less 250's out each time I go, most are jumping on the 4poke bandwagon. I have a yfz but I rather ride my R. You have any dates penciled in for this season?

Norcal what happend to the blue fullbores? those set it off nice! Still looks mean though. Nice R's EVERY ONE !!!!

Hey Troy, that's a trick looking R. The black beadlocks set it off nicely. Good work!

They are standard travel plus 2's with 4-1 rims. If you are interested in the front end, I would sell them with the shocks. I have a set of LT Laegers that I would like to put on the bike. Just need money to get some shocks.

Let me know.
Dan

Do they still make those Terry racing graphics?

Work with me here i saw the very last pic first and no other posts talking about it being a puma.lol. it only took one quick look to know what it was. As for all the specs....i have already talked to some people about theirs and they seem pretty protective which is understandable. I have no secrets with my puma though.lol, but i was just stating that there is a high possibilty that info is under wraps
