I have an '01 400ex and my shcoks are super stiff...it hurts when i come down on a wheelie

..is this noramal??..do i need new shocks to fix the problem?

check and see if there is oil coming from ne where on the shock, if not just soften them up a bit. if there is oil they are probably blown and you will need to get new shocks.

I already set the pre-load all the way down and its still really stiff..and no there isnt any oil comin out

how much do you weigh? Can you compress the shocks? try standing on the front bumper to check if you want... I can't see how you can be having troubles with them being too hard... Maybe your a-arms are seized up (not moving up and down...)?

i only weigh 145 and yea they compress and yes the arms move up and down..i think i just need new ones idk what to do

take the shocks off, and see if its not the a-arms that are causing your problems. its really easy to take the shocks out, only 4 bolts total.

they are probably bottoming out. I can jump on my 400ex bumper and bottom the shocks out. Only thing to do is get aftermarket
