Hey, ive found someone who will trade this Predator for my 400ex (mods in my sig). Is there anything special i should look for when im lookin at it? And how will it compare? Thanks

I would ask if it has had the update kit installed in the tranny. Some 03's have had tranny failure. I would also ask if the clutch was used when shifting all the time. Powershifting seems to be the major cause of the failures.

I agree....I have 1 of the first preds made, and my tranny is still strong, but I use the clutch and don't really abuse it. Might ask last time it was serviced, if at all(valves adjusted, etc). Also, ask when the first oil change was done, and how long every time there after. Ask in detail about any mods done. Any cracks or breaks in frame. Tires worn?

Also check the frame for cracks up around the head stay motor mount. The 2003 models had a problem with the frame cracking. Other than that you will like the power and handling better then 400ex. JMO

just make sure you figure out how often the dude changed his oil! it is imperative that frequent oil changes are done, especially if it was rode hard (usually every 1-2months) because the preddy's oil runs right into the clutch!

actually you should change your oil every other ride, but if you only ride once a month then i guess changing your oil once a month would work!!!

changing oil after every other time you ride? mabey if you are a racer! if you ride hard, probably every month would be reasonable. by the way, do YOU change your oil every other ride

lmao, tim you're freakin airfilter was so full of crap when you took it off, your dealer actually said you were losing performance

I change mine about every 10hrs or so......basically when it gets real black, I change it.
