I know this has been beaten to death but, i was thinking about a hrc cam for my build up. I want to build a 416 engine. it will have a J.E. piston, headstuds full fmf megamax exhaust, k&n or uni filter. I was told to just use a hotcam but i've heard that they are noisey and i dont want that. i ride a lot of woods and some drag racing. i still have to find out what gearing i want to run yet. witch cam would be the best for me? if hot cams are the best choice then so be it but dont let the price be the decideing factor. thank for all the help in advance.

I have a hot cam in my 400EX and it doesnt make that much noise. it is just a little ticking noise that youll hardly notice over the sound of your pipe.

I have the stage 2 hotcam, it works wonders on the power side of things I love it.

Stg II hotcam is a great cam for drag racing. Tons of mid and top with the bottom to boot! I never notice a ticking noise from mine. also, what would help you as much as the cam is a better exhaust...

I rode Fourwheelerstud's quad and I couldn't get it it tick any louder than my stocker. As you can see he has the stock pipe so other noise wasn't a factor.
