Sand drag 06 700 vs 06 hrc 450r

I rode my buddys new 700 and man what a torque monster, but in the sand how close will this be ? no knock on either bike we both ride mainly wooded trails, the 450r seems better there but he can back up alot faster than i can. I see lots of stock vs stock bench racing Im just curious if the hrc kit is enough to push the 450r a little harder. the 700 is totally stock (probably be that way its whole life).

i cant say about the 06 450r but the 04 with a pipe, jet kit, and air filter sits side by side with a 700 raptor we just did about 20 races with a bunch of different riders last sun. And almost every time they were side by side.

i think that the 06 with the hrc kit would win but not sure ill be able to tell you this next weekend though

and we will have vids too.

No need to get all uppy about it... he may have ridden one and beaten a few. I, on my 450r with a pipe and airfilter ( Jetted, of course), beat every 700 Raptor that I had the opportunity to race. Will I do it all the time? Probably not.... I am sure that I could go at some time ( Like it was) and get spanked by a 700 Raptor. For me it was every time. For someone else.... you may just have to read their post!

i'm not all "uppy" or any other word you want to use... i'm calm, i just think he is so far out in left field saying "no question about it" that it is humorous. a banshee compared to a blaster, that is no doubt about it and is not up for debate, it is fact... 700r vs a modified 450, that could be up for debate, but if either side is going to ahve the "no doubt about it" label, it would lie with the 450

The 700's are no slackers by any means. What I was getting to was the fact that every time I see a thread similar to this, someone has to start an argument. Not saying that it was you or that it was going to involve you, but it happens almost every time. If he thinks that the Rappy will win every time, then let him. Who cares? Obviosly you, myself, and others here are for the 450, especially due to the fact that we have seen it. It isn't hurting anyone.

there is a lot of room for misinterpretation through typing over the interenet, and i know my tone is misunderstood a lot. i dont let any of this stuff bother me, and i'm in a laughing and joking mood when writing this stuff. when i read stupid stuff, i just dont take the people seriously... i respond for the sole reason that people on here are searching for correct information and often base their information off of "facts" they find here, and it is stupid when people try to convince themselves by distorting facts on here.

I know a piped 700 will beat a piped 06 450R. Ive done it repeatingly with two of them..........fairly easy. Neither one had an HRC kit though. A stock 700 and HRC equipped 06 450R should be a good race but I think the 450 should win. They say the HRC kit makes even more of a difference on the 06s.

My buddy just picked up his 700 and I got to ride it, it is a TQ monster. He thinks its the fastest quad ever made, I will get to race him real soon. My other friend had an 04 raptor he put lots of money in it pipe,cam,piston 686 you get the idea and when we raced I beat him every time on a 150yd race. At the time all I had was hrc kit 04. I really don't see the 700R to be a threat for the 450s.

well you guys where right we didnt wait for the sand but lined them up about 8 times trading sides and directions on the drag strip all with the same result. close off the line but by 3rd gear I was walking away with a pretty good pull. I did get passed by a banshee with some mods. he let me ride it and wow the power band hit so hard. the z400 with pipe and 12:1 comp. and a 416ex with pipe and port was behind me all day.

i have a 700r and the 450r beat my stock 700 with the hrc kit. but i have modified my 700r and we are so close that it is not even funny. but the 450r still beat my 700r.

we went to oklahoma ls and he only raced me once
at the finish I looked back and he was 4 lengths behind me
(not sure distance on the drag strip)
he said he was closing on me towards the end so at one time it was more than 4 lenghts.
I love this friggin quad.
we traded rides for a few min. and both wanted to trade back, his was super smooth and predictable but it didnt have the "hit"
of the 450r, and you had to give it a little tug after 3rd gear for wheelies where the 450 was just gas it and enjoy.
I raced some other guys that where at the drags.
beat a yfz450
beat a 04/05 450r
beat a built z400
lost to a 04/05 450r (not same as above)
lost to 2 drag banshee's (to be expected)

Did you have yours dyno tuned or did you download a map off the site? I've heard that maps on the site run a little rich. At 51hp, I would think you would have no problem beating a 450R.........

Well i live 10 minutes from the sand. We ride 2 to 3 times
a weak and i got a 660 with cam/p-p head /39fzr/lte 11-1 piston
i eat the 700 and the 450r it comes down to money .

there is always some one faster i get beat by other 660 to
