250r frame???

I just bought an 86 trx250r and I have noticed a couple of minor frame issues and I was wondering if I would be better off having it repaired or should I just pick up another frame? Just trying to find out which would be more economical. The front mounts for the rear plastic/seat are messed up and there is a crack in a weld at the rear of the subframe. It also has a dent near the front motor mounts but I can't tell if the frame is tweaked at all.

Here's a pic of the new project R It runs great and just needs some TLC

just repair it unless you really feel you need a new frame. I had to repair the same things on mine. there is a factory dent in the lower frame rail by the engine mounts.

I have heard there is a factory dent there but it looks to me like it has hit a rock or something.

Anyone have pics of this factory dent so I can compare it to mine?

Thanks that would be helpful. I'm going out to get a pic of mine now so everyone can see exactly what I'm talking about.

crack in weld at rear seat mount. It's right in the center of the pic and it's about an inch long. It looks worse in the pic because of the rust around the crack.

those all look like normal stress points to me have it guesseted, and for the dent near the a-arm mount i wouldnt worry about it to much, i have a few pics of guessets if you want

It's mainly the dent in the vertical tube just behind the a arms mount. The dent in the lower tube directly behind the a arm mount seems to be the factory one everyone has mentioned. It really doesn't appear to have bent the frame but I will be able to tell more when I get all the bushings and balljoints replaced. I don't think I need the pics of the gussets since I won't be doing the repair myself. I'll leave that up to the pros.

heres the pic of the frame with the factory "dent". where your frame is bent shouldnt be hard to fix. it also looks like that frame has had another piece of tubing welded under the motor mount.

and as for the rear seat mount mine was cracked like that and we welded it up last year and it has held up nicely. idk if you can see where it was welded in the pic.

Thanks for the pics. After looking at them it appears my frame isn't too bad after all. Nice to know.

He has an 86 frame, those frames came with more gusseting from the factory than other years, that one piece of tubing is part of those extra gussets.
