Hey i have a 300ex now. I'm looking to go up to a bigger quad i race and jump occasionally and fast trail riding. But im undecided of what my next quad should be the 450r, yfz450, 660 raptor, or predator 500. I would be buying the quad used which one would be the best.

Why not the LTR-450? Out of the list I would buy the 450r.

because the big cc quads are only good for dunes, the raptor has the worst handling. you said u wanted to ride mx so the 450r, yfz or ltr450 would would be the best for you. if you are racing xc i would steer away from the ltr and look at the 450r, yfz or predator.

a 400ex might suit u well if ud consider it i am kinda in the same place im workin on finishin up my work on my 300ex this summer and buyin a new toy next year im pretty well settled on the yfz i dont liek the way the 450 feels when i sit on it i am oppossed to kawi suziki and artic cat (all the same brand basicly all though artic cat is startin to make thier own engins now) because the one i had only runs after i spend days and days working on it and it allways breaks but theres alot of guys who love them i jsut have had bad luck
back on topic i am really seriously looking at the raptor just because it has revers and goes liek crazy but i ride trails and jump alot and that massive beast is prolly to big to jump i dont know though cause i havent riden it
my fianal desicion is the only thing that would get me off my 300 is the yfz 450 every time i sit on one in the show rom i fall in love and have to be drug off the 450r just feels to stiff and i feel liek im to high up but i havent riden it so i cant say with confidence i dont like it

Yea i was looking at the raptor 700r its the same price as the yfz the only difference is 1.5in in ground clearance an 40 pound its has the same travel and everything. Why not get the 700r?

the engines are totaly differnt compresion everything the way a raptor handles is differnet then the yfz to alot because of the geomotry they are drasticly diferetn rides

YFZ!!!!!! Trust me, I have had both the 450r and the YFZ, which I still have, and I love the YFZ alot more!!

i cant buy a yfz or 700r but i test rode both.i like the 700r better.im a bigger rider and i feal right weare i need to be on the raptor.the yfz is to race ready for me.i like trail riding and hill climbs.dont get me wrong the yfz can do them both but its to low for me.thats my 2 cents.

thats cool i get that totlay the big quads liek the 700r are to big for me i feel stretched out i kinda like the placment even on the big ones but they would limit me when i go to really push them thats why i like the yfz its a perfet fit for me i really like the narrow seat i sat on a z 400 and i lek the position (never started it up) but i feel like im really far forward i think its just an illusion because of the view u have of the a arms but it bugs me when i sit on them

it took me alittle bit of time to tune it but once i got it set just right it holds up to every one of their claims the anti slosh feature has saved me a number of times i absoltly love it

im a honda rider but my friend got a used yamaha and the guy before him raced it a couple of times, i had to have hit at least 100mph but thats with everything tricked out

i have heard that the preadator has major tranny problems after u ride it for awhile thats the only reason i wouldnt look at one

any body knwo how true it is
i knwo the one in dirt wheels tyhat they did their test on had the problem if the probloem is resolved i would look at one

i was reading one of my previous Dirt Wheels mag and they tested the predator. they said when it was straight up in the air, it leaked oil but this magazine was about 1 year ago, it might have changed.

dont get a preddy.. they blow up too much.. if you plan on doing a lot of mx, go for the yfz or 450r, if you plan on doing trail rides and occasional mx, get the 660r/700r.
