I wanna get it in black, but ive heard the paint chips off easily. is this true?

its probably powdercoat so it wont chip near a s easy as paint but pc will still chip with hard hits usually metal to metal contact

My buddy has one and it's held up well, still looks new but we only ride sand.

MX, is a no way. If you just trail ride and sand dune you will be fine.

Anywhere where you are getting blasted by other riders, you are just wasting your time with the black bumper.

mine is holding up real nice. i race mx. i wouldnt get one if race xc those darn trees jump out right in front of you. i know when i got mine though i would baby it like when i put it in a truck id put sumthin soft in front of it.

I've actually flipped mine and all I got was a couple of scuffs. I also race MX and have yet to see chipping. It's held up very well, compared to the new "blackline" from AC Racing which is just like a single coat from a rattle can, it wore through just from being in the box!
