Anyone ever do one of these? Arew they hard? I am gonna try to do one tom for my rear brake. Are they very complicated? Also how long should his take? Also what are the chances that i will need a new caliper piston? Just so taht I dont have to make 2 trips to the dealer
thanks killer

It is not a complicated job at all. Just a couple of o-rings and seals. The difficult part is inserting the pistons without damaging or rolling the seals over. It is rare that you would need to replace the piston unless the caliper is really old or has been abused. just make sure it and the bore are clean and smooth before putting it together.
What is your reason for rebuilding it? Is it leaking, hanging up ect?

Did the rear caliper and master cylinder on my 350x. Piece of cake. The factory repair manual makes it a snap. Take your time, and make sure everything is CLEAN.

Here is a pic that may help. Put a little grease on the orings so they will slide in easier with out rolling over or being cut like Teufel said.

well I went to the dealer and picked up the caliper rebuild kit. Then right after i went to my work(were i keep my wheeler) to work on it. Well i got there took out the manual and started tearing it apart. I was removing the piston when i saw a piece of an o ring go flying i was like ok thats why it is leakin. So I finished takin it apart and all be damned the two top o rings are fine the dust seal and piston o ring. So i was like wtf and looked at my manual there is a o ring for the back of it for the parking brake. I am like ok so i went to look at my pakage and they only sent the two top o rings. I was so pissed I went in called them and am like I think you guys owe me an o ring I should have 3 you gave me 2! They were like what are you talkin bout Im like i just bought the rebuild kit and you dont even give me all the o rings im like you got one **** of a rebuild kit goin there. They were like well that dont come in the kit. I was like that dont make anysence. If it comes as a kit it should include all of it. But any way i ended up spending 6.50 on 3 orings. I HATE my dealer they are a total disaster. They are screwing over all there customers! Everyone i know that buys things from there has been screwed over more then once. So now that i had to go to get the other o ring i didnt finish rebuilding it tonite so now im not even sure when its gonna be finished. i dont have any more days off fr like another week and i dont got time to do it and i sure as **** am not gonna pay someone to di it so im in a really bad mood.
