Okay, so Im selling my YFZ and building a CRF hybrid from the ground up. Im pretty new to the build and I have a couple of questions regarding fitting the engine in the frame.

I am aware that you have to get front engine mounts for it, but I saw somewhere here that he repositioned the bottom engine mount rail. Is that necessary and what other frame modifications do I need to fit the engine in the frame.

Find an aftermarket frame that is meant for a CRF450 motor. The CFR motor is too tall, and sits off to one side of the frame. So you would need to cut into the bottom of the frame, and do something with your gas tank to keep the motor from hitting it. You really are best off getting an aftermarket frame meant for that motor. If you want to look it up koh0001 tried putting a CRF motor into a frame meant for a 250r and it didn't work.

If you use a YZ426/450 motor, then you can get it to work.

will a yz 450 or 426 fit in a lonestar frame then??? does the swing arm mount need to be moved??? what about the lower frame rails?? has anyone tried it?? if so can i see some pics!!

So, Im interested in the LSR Chassis. Is it worth the 2310 price tag and would the CRF engine be a drop in ?

what kind of exhaust is on that? i think its a TC shorty? if it is where did u buy it, and also ill buy it from you if you wanna sell it, i want one so and cant come acrosss one

As long as you get the CRF chassis from lonestar, then the motor, will just drop right in. You can't get a regular 250r frame, it has to be a CRF frame. Once you get that frame, and drop the motor in, everything else is just 250r components.

You got it. That frame is 8 to 12 weeks out. Is what they told me. It comes with a sub. BUT you have to buy the CRF swinger. Because of the rear motor mount. It has to be worth it. Just to have everything work right. Good luck

what kind of price is the frame and swing arm??? i have thought about it also!! what kind of rear set are you going to run?? did that affect the price?? got tax money and had the thought of building a new hybrid, maybe i need to claim more kids to build the dream quad!! lol thanks for any help!!

$3000 + tax from LSR I'm running a no link swinger. PC red. If you want chrome it's more. I didn't price a link swinger. I already have everything I need, BUt the swinger and frame. $ 4700 will get you going if you already have the $12,000 worth of everything else. Right ??? LOL I have ATLEAST that in the bike I have now. THEN I bought a $2500 motor. NOW I have to buy $3500 frame and swinger.. ARE WE HAVING FUN YET ????? LOLOLOLOLOL They told me in the begining it would be this way, And I told them they were crazy.

It's all for the love of the sport!!! It gives you something to look forward to when you get older....HAHAHAHA

here is the frame, I'm working with for my hybrid lsr yzf frame, bought it on this site. Great looking frame, no link dc-4 is on the way! Just have to get powdercoating, thought I'd give you a preview of what your getting its pretty much the same frame.

how s your project coming along?
i was thinkin you should put a tm 450 engine in there it would kick every yfz or trx's *** even yzf or crf hybrids.

tm motorcycles are all hand build and are the fastest bikes on the tracks in europe next to ktm but tm is much more riliable then ktm

Hontrx.. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HEADSTAY FOR THE YZ!!!

I would also recommend the wet sump kit!

I see you have something for a headstay up there, but just double checking..

Nice front end by the way! PRO TRAX is the way to go.

I also see you did a nice job raising the pivot mounts. Are you machining the swingarm to fit around the engine, or getting a YZ swingarm from LSR??
What kind of linkage??

racerx, it is a true lonestar frame. I did a conversion myself before this one, but I wanted to try the real deal, I also got a good deal on the protraxx so I went a head and sold all my old stuff. I finally got my swingarm, and everything else is getting powdercoated rightnow, it will be done wed. Here is a pic of the motor in the frame.

its also a dc-4 nolink with 18.5" elka triple rate rear, I have matching elka 19.5" quads for the front. could you give me some more info on the wetsump conv? how much is it? doesn't it make it a pain to change the oil? I change my oil about every two rides, I'm really meticulous about maintaining stuff.

Looks sweet, Do you have any pics of where your swingarm bolts to the chassis. I just started putting mine together.and it looks like a spacer is missing. ? Do you just make one?

my chassis came with the spacers. They look like they were meant for the chassis. I don't think they were made ones. I'll take some pics of them later today. I'm picking everything up from the powdercoater in a few hours, so of course I'll be laying some of it together.

I looked at a stock one today and it looks the same way. With the space between the swingarm and chassis. I need to know if that's the way it'suppose to be?
