Hey all, I'm new to this world and about to buy my first quad from a Yamaha dealership. Its a 2002 Yamaha Warrior, which is pretty much brand new, there are no rub marks anywhere that I can find on the bike. They are asking 3200 for it and I was wondering if this is a good deal for this type of bike. Thanks!

Sounds a little high priced to me. You can pick up a 400ex for that. I found one a 400 atvtraderonline that was $3000 at a dealer.

Thanks for the info.. once i get my financing in place, I'm going to try and get him down some. Are the kelly blue book values accurate? for a 2002 warrior, it lists 2925, and a 2002 400ex at about 3185.. this warrior is crispy clean and pretty much brand new, so i may try to get him down to 2800 or so.

I would say the KBB values are close but mainly a guideline. It all depends on the condition of the quad. I'd say the $2800 is more reasonable. I have quite a few mods on my 300 and it is in awesome condition and I would be surprised to get $2800 out of it.

my buddy just picked up a really nice 2004 for $2400

whats wrong with warriors!!! And the fact that the suzuki and the ex arnt even in its class.

by the way give me 6 reasons why you dont like warriors

One thing warrior is kinda of heavy 389-398 dry weight.

Second for a few more $ why not get a 400ex if u want reverse than suzuki 400lt all the way..suzuki is more advance than 400ex.

Third- only thing the warrior has going good is it is a yamaha.

Forth-resale on the warrior is not great, cause theres alot of them plus they have changed to a more sleek look which is the 350 raptor.

nothings really wrong with the warrior....

its not that much heavier than my 300.it handles worse than my 300 but it makes it up in speed. iv seen some bad warriors, but by his desription it sounds nice. $3200 is a nice deal and you arent gonna find a nice 400 honda or suzuki in that price range. Again they arent even in the warriors class so dont compare them. If its in good shape youll get a ton of resale value. Their is more things good about it than a yamaha label. They are very relible, 6 speed maunal sport quad.

why is suzuki more advanced than the honda?

last they just basically took the warrior engine and put it in the raptor and slapped some nice plastic on. So anytime you get spanked by a raptor 350 think "I just got smoked by a warrior"

by the way, see if you can wittle it down to 2900-3000

POLARISRIDER should be a warrior spokesman....

My only suggestion is add another $500 and get the 400ex or suzuki, ur rite there not in the same class so why not get better.....

Not to step on your toes bro., but I had a 2002 400ex and only payed $2600 for it. It was in excellent condition to boot.

you got a hell of a nice deal then

i think he wanted a reverse on his quad and i was refering to the newer (05-06) 400s

Posted by: brian12

Ur going to regret getting a warrior.... u shall see......i rather get a blaster over a warrior

Posted by: 98warriorboy

trust me thats a quad u dont want to get, i had one before my warrior and im glad to get rid of that peice of junk. blasters suck!

Posted by: brian12

Yeah piece of junk........ur aware a blaster can blow bye a warrior....a little 197cc two stoke can kill a warrior in anything--trails,juming,racing, just plain kill the warrior.. u gotta have respect for the baby banshee... peacez

Posted by: 98warriorboy

yeah i agree that my old blaster could smoke my warrior but blaster suspension sucks, they dont hill climb that good, and they suck on the trails. my warrior is perfect on the trails and its the best jumping quad i have ever owned. it also does very well on hills.

Posted by: PolarisRider

you think warriors are soo bad......i ask why?

what kinda quad do you have???

and you dont think this is bad, do you?

To tell you the truth bud, That is not a bad deal for it to be coming from a dealer. As to the discussion that this has caused, if you are looking for a great trail bike w/ reverse.....this is what you need!! It is perfect for a beginner!! If that is what you want I would jump on the deal!!

Posted by: hondapro300EX

I was trying to bite my lip but couldn't do. But the only thing warrior is good at is a straght away(If you got oltimers). I got a friend thats got one and the handling is freckin horrible and weights more than my jeep. I just feel bad for you when you mess up and it flattens you on a hill.

Posted by: teamhonda396x

i had a 2003 and when i ride hills it was great.as to being heavy i could hit really nice jumps and if it geats side ways i could just throw it around.it is a good quad but i like my 300ex.

Posted by: PolarisRider

between the warrior and the 300ex there isnt that many differences. Yes the warrior is faster but not by much and only on straightaways and the 300ex would blow it outta the water in the woods because the warrior handles bad( but not too bad that u shouldnt get it)

it sounds like a great deal and i think you should go for it
