Hey I am wondering how big of a difference the crf conversion kit is for the 04 trx450r's. I am curious from people who actually have it is it worth the money. And also if it would be a better purchase then getting the fcr carb. Let me know what you guys think.

yeah it converts the trx ignition to the crf ignition. It raises your rev limit like 2000 rpms and makes it rev a whole lot faster I am told. Just wondering if anyone who races mx has used one or not

Its worth it, no real dyno gains, but seat of the pants its faster, much snappier.

From Trail Tech, and you send them your stator cover and they send another one back to you with the adpater plater already installed, and then its easy from there, a few plugs and thats it. Its also a lot easier to do if you have the FCR carb.

Its worth it for sure. I couldnt pull a holeshot on YFZs when I raced, usually I had to settle for like 3rd place on the starts then pass my way up, but i put the CRF conversion from TT on there and a hotcam and my 1st race out with both those mods i DESTROYED a field of about 8 YFZs and 2 450rs on the holeshot. Needless to say I won the race by about 10 seconds minimum. Definately the best mod ive ever done. Actually its 2nd to the TM Designworks slide n glide kit, that is the best thing ive ever done.

My personal race bikes dont have the CRF ignition but I've rode a couple of bikes with the mod. Its amazing on how much it revs, throttle response, and it just makes the quad pull so much harder.

We dont see much as far as HP gains on the dyno, but seat of the pants feels like 10 HP! Its a great mod for MX or TT...makes the bike a lot easier to ride I think also...

I ordered mine straight from them. If you get it you will be amazed at how tiny the flywheel is. It looks like its half the size of the stock one.
