05 Kick Problem?

I bought a used 05 450, it runs great, i am new to atv's and sometimes when i am kicking her, the kick start just goes through its stroke with no (compression) resistance 3, 4, 5 times in a row? Whats my problem?? When i do get resistance she starts up fine? THANKS.

That's normal. A 4 stroke only has a compression stroke every 4th stroke. It shouldn't have to be on the compression stroke for it to start.

If it's not to much to ask, how much did you give for your 450? Did it have any extras?

how new is it. because when my quad was new it would be a ***** to start, but before I just got it rebuilt and it was like I could blow on the kick starter and it would start. but it still would start on the first kick every time.
