first of all thanks a million to rafferty newman and racin raptor for replyin to my last querie, but i was out on the raptor today for the first long ride and now i have two new ones, i have no second gear and cant get the bike into reverse either, secondly every time i wash the quad it wont start afterwards. it starts perfectly every other time no matter whether its cold or hot but after i wash it no joy at all. im really quite worried bout how much the gear problem is gonna set me back

the 01 raptors have a known problem with the tranny, hate to tell you this but it is very possible that you are going to have to rebuild the tranny with the updated 02 tranny parts. my suggestion is to pull it apart and inspect, before you do any more damage.

Reason for starting problems after washing: the moisture screws up the coil / CDI / electrical (when freshly soaked). Once dry if all is well it's nothing to worry about, just don't plan on running it until it's dry.
