who actually makes there motors and where from?

Posted by: orangeEX

hey bud its "wes" yamaha99 from dsqra site

alot of these 4 stroke engines are just old surplus parts from honda's
ATC era i have had alot of 3 wheelers, all honda and these are definately honda engines.
now for the frames and cheap components that surround the engine.....no idea
they need a little more R&D if you ask me but i guess then
they wouldn't be so cheap $....lol

Hey wes

I was just looking at them cause the youngest is wanting to ride and dont know how she will go for it so was thinking of getting one of these throw aways incase she doesnt like and if she does then get one that i would build ya know.

I would say get the redcat it's wider than rest the plastics are very nice \, it could use taller gearing, it falls a little on the transition from 1st to 2nd, it also has double A arms, disc brakes out back drums in the front

was that a shipped price to your door ? if so, where did you get it for that price ?

I couldn't find one on the "net" for sale at the time so i went to a dealer and had them order me one!

actually $750 + tax

i didn't actually like it at first but the more i play with it the faster
it gets... so far i drilled a few 1/4" holes in the air box cause you can always seal them back up. i drilled through the baffles of the exhaust with a 5/8" drill bit i had to buy one 8" long.
then i took the main jet and a torch tip cleaner and just barely reamed it out. when i say barely i mean i found the same size
and filed about three times.
the power picked up tremendously
the front sprocket is a 12th so i took it to a honda dealer
and found a 14th part #( 23800-040-010) the original chain is an odd size i thought it was a 420 but it wouldn't fit the new 420 sprocket. i had an old kasea 90(the old ugly ones) i took the chain off it and it fit the new front and old rear.
it will now do a high speed drift with a little body action from
my 48lb daughter.
i got a 15 th on the way . i'll keep you posted

Wes

Hey we picked up one of these falcons for sharkbait to goof on. That sprocket change helped 3rd gear that much?

Posted by: orangeEX

the mini falcon is auto but yeah it brings that corked up motor to life! by the way glad to see ya back!

Posted by: dodgepower

Hmmm maybe this thing is just a falcon then. Boutght it used. Hmmm might have to try that out .

Thanks for the welcome home.

These are NOT Honda surplus engines. Thinking about it logically, at current volumes, they burned up any surplus parts years ago. In fact, Honda sold the rights to the CT-70 type engine design years ago. Since then everyone and his brother (China) has made a clone of it. There are miles worth of these assembly plants in China. However, typically the materials are not as good as the original Honda's and they often don't hold out for nominal dimensions either. So they can be slightly out of spec on certain things. Honda parts may or may not fit in that case.
