New Jersey???

Posted by: XCRacer10

hi i live in new jersey and i was wondering if anyone knows anywhere to ride...NY or PA or NJ?? let me know. PM me plz

Posted by: avc8130

Try your backyard between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm. Any other time, any other place and its illegal in this hell hole.

Seriously, there is no where left to ride unless you have a local spot that you can get away with.

Good Luck!

Actually I live in Lake Hiawatha just over the border. Where in Montville are you? Where do you ride over there? The "Hill"? I was so pissed when they built on the Orchards, I used to ride there from my house. Now my mother lives in the condos where the sand pits used to be on Changebridge.

the only non motocross LEGAL place to ride in nj that i know of is the njorv park. its exit 63 off the parkway.
for mx there is englishtown and atco. mt pleasent just kinda shut down over this past spring it dont know what the story there is.

Posted by: quad&dirtbike

yeah i heard mt.pleasent closed down but i hear they are opening back up soon. jack frost is closed ik that...i guess its just like atco englishtown and njorv...orv is a fun place to ride tho

Posted by: Ham Sandwich

Chatsworth is fun on a quad

That place is boring after 15 mins.

Posted by: deathman53

chattsworth is also fun if you like ride a track with no good jumps, lots of kids on the track who don't know how to ride and go all over the places, cut you off, etc. Its actaully pretty entertaining to ride there, all the people who are riding bikes they have no businees on, people who buy 450's, raptors and such and have no idea how to ride it, the utilty quads with 25" tires who try to jump them and can't forget the people who buy a graphics kit and think that their bikes will be faster. You see lots of people there who never put a wrench on their bike and pay the dealer tons of money to change the oil, adjust the chain and such. I saw this guy there today who rode a trx450r like he was riding a harley. I ride there for the sole reason that its almost always open.

Hang time

Posted by: ATC350X 85

That looks like a fun place, i dont think ive ever been there before.

Posted by: doc-bones

You name it terrain wise and we got it!! All in the same day!

Posted by: 450r#221

I went to Chats today. It seems that everytime i think the track cant get any worse it does. Now they are spreading wood grinds on the track instead of dirt.

Posted by: ATC350X 85

Chats is a joke overpriced for the size and quality of it. I like the poker runs they have there, more technical trails and alot longer.

Posted by: deathman53

I was at chatts today, the reason why they put down woods chips is because they aren't allowed to bring in real dirt, they can take all the wood chips they want and the theory is woods chips turn into dirt after enough time, E-town and atco also put down woods chips, but they put them down more uniform and spread it around better. I was on my 200x trike today at chatts, tommorrow if the weather is good, I'm gonna bring my atc250r.

Posted by: 450r#221

It seems like they have no problem keeping the MX track in good shape. There is plenty of sand around.I saw you there on the 200.I was with the guy with the Pilot.

Posted by: blasterguy02

hasnt anyone ever been to the turnpike????

Posted by: panteramatt

Where at on the turnpike?

Posted by: blasterguy02

im not sure... there are trails ALLLL over the turnpike..... you can ride right along cars it goes for such a long time.

Posted by: deathman53

it seams that they care more about the mx track than the atv track. Also they are very concerned about people getting hurt on the atv track, I asked the track groomer to put some decent jumps in, give the jumps lips, put some small kickers in, but he said that the board says no because they are concerned about people getting hurt. Its a fight trying to get the track better, I'm guessing the "concerned mothers" complained the people how "techincal"???? the track was and they changed it to make it more kid friendly, I think its pretty gay myself, but you have to remember us hardcore riders are only about 25% of the people that ride there, the rest are people on utilties, kids, and the general public who go out and buy the fastest bike they can and have no idea how to ride them. Unfortunitly, the insurance company dicates how the track is, not the 25% of us hardcore riders. When its possible to ride a hardcore track, I go and ride at e-town, rausch creek, atco, etc. Its just that e-town is closed seamingly every other weekend, rausch creek is 2 1/2 hours away, Atco is hard to get to due to my work schedule. Chatts is my only choose for riding during the winter.

Posted by: 450r#221

Maybe im the only person that notices that most of the ambulance and chopper rides come from the MX track.Last time i checked, there was a intermediate track for the kids.Thats where my 5 year old rides.I also go to E-Town,its only 15 min. from my house.I havent been to Atco yet.I think they are only open to practice on Fri night.

Posted by: deathman53

I'm telling you this directly from what I was told by the board when I questioned about making the atv track better, this is also coming from the track groomer who is told to make the track how it is. I remember the old track and people did get hurt, especailly the double tabletops, they got so much speed on the straight away that a few people crashed into the concrete barrier. Atco is also open on tuesday nights. Atco won't allow my trike so I have to ride my quad there, its tough getting home from work then going riding, getting home about 12:30, eating, going to sleep 1:30 getting a 5 hr sleep and going to work the next day sore and tired.
I will agree too that more injuries happen at the mx track, but thats not how it used to be. the track is so afraid of lawsuits from the "concerned mothers", this is how it is, like it or not. I tired to get the board to authorize a more techical atv track with no avail. They will have to get hurt in the wallet to do something drastic.

Have you ever tried the 80s trails or Pine Berrings

Posted by: doc-bones

We ride the trails from Jackson which is about 88 down to past Chattsworth about 67 and west to route 70 and 72 circle and everywhere between! We occasionally ride with the JERSEY . I must say he can RIP~

Posted by: 450rBOI

YO i live in NJ and i basically ride the pine barren..e town or my local towns sand pits...which is the **** yo..

Posted by: allstock

hey doc-bones i ride the same place as you.im out there every day look for me

Posted by: doc-bones

This is my new machine to look for!!

Posted by: lt250rm

i ride with the jersey devil all the time.

Posted by: ny300exrider

from the pictures ive seen, jersey pit riding is the type of riding i love. i am a sucker for huge sandpits with hills and cliffs everywhere. it must be torture having sweet riding areas like that, but having to always check your back for cops. i know whats its like though, i live on long island!
doc-bones, when you get new pictures you should definitly keep this updated, i could look at pics like those over an mx track any day of the week and its good to see people making use of the spots even i f theyre known to be "hot" or "illegal"

Posted by: CHIROCHRIS

is that a hot spot with the cops, i was under the impression it was cool..

Posted by: needayfz

does any1 no goerge

Posted by: exrider44

Doc the new ride is pretty damn sweet!George is a good guy

Posted by: Mean250r

chatts could be a good track, but they shoudnt let the buggys on it, there to low to the ground and ruin every lipe of all the jumps, the people on the utility are pretty funny to watch, but if you go on like a thursaday morning i herd its pretty good, because they groom on wednesdays ...... E town is sick as hell, i didnt get out there once last season cuz everytime they were open i had to do sumpthin .... i was never really into the sand pits but ill admit the pics doc posted looked sick.

Posted by: doc-bones

Thanks Doug!!

Posted by: allstock

hey doc were you out there sunday because i heard some one broke there leg out there im just curious who it was

Posted by: doc-bones

allstock,
i was out in sarco sunday. where did you here about that?? gliddens or sarco??

Posted by: doc-bones

Doc those pics are awesome good job. I am suppose to ride down there this spring with a bunch of friends.

Posted by: rpyfz450

Are "pine bearings" the ones that always have sand in them and need to get replaced all the time?

Posted by: ATC350X 85

Sounds that way I think i had a set of those once.

Posted by: ny300exrider

anyone got any more pics of the NJ sandpits? i love looking at those pics

Posted by: optikid123

so fun there. only been to sarco lately, i have a better spot to park there. we used to park by stavola and ride the tracks in but i havent done it in a few months cause they pushed up those dirt mounds. is it still legit to go that way? cause i kno the place good once im there just dont wana have the cop waiting on the tracks and its my only way back out.

Posted by: avc8130

I wish so badly I could get back down there. I loved riding at Sarco. Wasnt hurting or bothering anyone. It is upsetting. This is refreshing though:

Posted by: CHIROCHRIS

anobody want to roll down there, i have a trailer and truck and will drive if somone knows were it is..im down..

Posted by: avc8130

I know where the places are...and I know where NOT to park...because I have...but I dont know where TO park...therefore I cannot go

Posted by: optikid123

haha basically anywhwere is a spot not to park, sometimes people have a good spot deep in the forest, they are the best off as long as you ride around near your truck like a idiot

Posted by: DanTheMan

those pics wouldnt be from forked river would they?

Posted by: ny300exrider

i found these vids over at a different site. the guy with the shee is a nuttt

those vids in nj? ^^ sickkkkkkkkk

Posted by: ny300exrider

yup i mustve watched them at least 15 times. seeing people ride that terrain is an awsome change from the usual groomed mx track or flat and open sand dunes that you usually see in vids.

Posted by: DanTheMan

hell ya i remember when i first rode a pit like that i had to take it easy while the others just flew by... if you didnt know the area and you came haulin ***... youd be leaving in a chopper

Posted by: exrider44

Ive ridden in that pit its sick! I think some of the guys in that vid Ive ridden with or even parked at one of their houses. They are crazy on their quads.

Posted by: CD400EX

can someone PM me directions to some of these pits? I'm sick of riding around Giants Stadium and everything else up here is 4x4 quad trails
