Hey guys i'm new to mini's but not to quads!
i got this 90 from a friend ,for my daughter
its automatic but it runs out of gearing before
it runs out of power it has a 12 tooth (420 i think)
front sprocket the shaft is like the old honda's 3/4
shaft with thick gear type splines. any idea where i
could get a bigger sprocket?
next it has a 3 bolt hub pattern whats a popular
3 bolt pattern that may be a match(looks like 3 x 100or 110) looking for spacers
any ideas???
thanks
wes

I sold several LT-80 sand kits for Kazumas. Believe it or not the 110 and 150 falcons had LT-80 kits on them too.

you wouldn't happen to know the size of the pattern would you?
also the sprocket looks to be the same as the 80's atc70,trx70
but the 70's had 13,14 teeth which works out great for me
gotta do more homework though!
thanks guys

Well I could look it up in my catalog I suppose.

I put an 83 atc 110 13t front sprocket on my daugther's redcat works great direct fit but the teeth gap is a little deferent from the one on the chain.
I also put a 5 inch widening kit but had to return 1 of the set cuz the front std are of smaller diameter as soon as I get the front installed I post some pics

i thought the 110 honda had a sprocket inside the casing for high and low range?
keep me posted!!!
did it pick up much speed?

Is the difference in the chain sprocket gap much of a difference. I just ordered a Kazume 90 for my daughter and will be looking to help it out a little very soon. Also where did you get the wheel spacers. Any idea if the spacers like this would work on these quads. I know they are not as strong but my daughter will not be punishing her atv like I do mine.

th spacer I bought look just like that got them on ebay for $35, the gap on the sproket is not too big of a diference you can get it on rockymountainatv.com for about $4 buck, the lugz on the front were a different diameter tha the back so I returned them should get the new ones this week.
Did you know that he 90 and 110 are about the same size?
Posted by: dopeyferree
Yeah I did but my daughter is only 4 years old. A buddy bought the 50 and that was a complete waste of money. The kazuma 50 is a 3 or 4 speed trans, no suspension and way too small. Plus getting the Falcon 90 for $649 shipped to my house.

this is how the redcat will look with the spacers in the back, these will give you a total of 5", I will get my front ones sometime this week

Man what did you chew up all over the axle? Looks like a blanket got caught up in there

I was just going to ask the same thing.... looks like parts of the nerf netting?? & looks like you need a tail light tooo.....
Posted by: jocolo
Yes mi wife ran into my daughter the other day................the blue stuff is the netting from the Nerf that frays easily, you got to make sure you burn the ends before you ride it.

he he he LOL
Dont bother. Ya know how many I have sent out the door that returned the next weekend rolled, broke, and needing some love. Ha ha thats why you buy a cheaper first quad right there.
Heck I rolled my ATK the first weekend out too. Now that one hurt. 8 grand and no more pretty plastic first day.

i found the gearing secret....
honda 70 dirt bike sprocket part number
23800-040-010
and a chain to match i believe its a 428/420
whatever the bike has...
don't ask me why but the original chain will not fit the new
front sprocket, but the new matching chain will fit the original rear sprocket perfectly..
this brings top speed to around 28-30 depending on how far you wind it.
and still has enough low end to do a dohnut in dirt from a dead stop. its now capable of full speed drifts...
i'm going to try a 15th if i can find one..
i'll keep you guys posted
next step: suspension!
in dire need of help!!!!!

hyper-tuned
makes fronts for around $250 if I am correct the 90 falcons are 10" shocks but I gotta go measure them again!
Posted by: orangeEX
anyone ever buy shocks and try them?
how about a-arms?
Posted by: AFROracing
I just ordered some off of Ebay, they are the same that Hypertuned has listed, but I paid $190 for 3 shocks..
ebay shocks
Te shocks are set at 140-190lbs rider for the honda 50's.. Those bikes weight 75-100lbs.. 290 total... The kazuma weights 210lbs with my boy at about 60lbs 270lbs total, the shocks shoud be just about right!
Should have them in this week in time for the races this weekend..
I can't find anyone to do A-arms.
I was looking at the front end this weekend trying to figureout how to widen, the only alternative is to widen the brackets where the a-arms mount to the frame, pushing them out 2-3 inches, would also have to move the shocks out also.. Kinda like the TRX widening kits listed here..

I thought about that, but there isn't much room from front to back of the nose area. I had the kazuma150 (which I just sold) and was thinking of using those a-arms but the mounts are just way to wide. The front of the a- arm would have to be out past the bumper of the 90.
Got the shocks in today will be installing them tomorrow. The only prob I may have is the diameter of the spring, it may want to rub the frame. If so I'll have to build some of these brackets to extend for sure!

Did you ever get a chance to mount up those shocks? My biggest complaint with my son's mini falcon is the suspension. I'm interested to know how well the ones you bought work, and if you had to modify them to fit.
Thanks,
Daniel

mounted up perfectly, the front springs kiss the frame abit, but not enoungh to cause trouble. These shock are alittle stiff at first but I have been slowly adjusting the spring softer. He doesn't bottom the suspension out near as easy now.
My next project are the a-arm extending brackets..
I post some pics up in a bit!

One more question: Has anyone done anything to modify the steering stops on the Falcon 90? On ours, the stops seem to be too wide and will let the tire inside the turn go almost 90 degrees to the atv, which causes problems when he hits uneven terrain and has his wheels turned slightly. He's almost gone over the front twice from hitting logs or holes. I'd like to move the stops in a little to keep the wheels from turning as sharply. Anyone else do anything like this?
Daniel
BTW, the shocks look great, I'll have to keep my eyes open for some.

if you look in thee top pic of my shocks you can barely see that I welded a piece of rebar in place of the stock stops...

I was thinking of widening the falcon with this type of setup also..
I still need to decide on wether or not to send it to my buddy so he can fabricate a-arms..
what happened to the rear, looks like you got something missing?
we broke the axle a few weeks back on ours, sucker broke right where the hub connects..
Just pick up another stock falcon plan on using that for our test quad.
Although if everything goes well, we'll be picking up the new water cooled DRR and will prolly give up on the Kazuma.
