so what brand oil filter do you use and how often do you change it?

I use a K&N or Honda filter whichever is handiest
1st off warm the motor up, then get a oil pan put it under the quad, unscrew the drain bolt BE CAREFUL NOT TOO STRIP IT OUT IT'S EASY TO DO, draint he oil, it drains faster if you unscrew the top filler cap too, take out 3 bolts off oil filter cover on the side cover of motor, yes the oil will slop down the sidecase
take old filter out & dispose of properly, put new filter in making sure you remember the O ring, put gasket on filter cover, screw back on, put drain plug back in, & fill w/ oil,
can't remember the exact amount to add right off hand though
GOOD LUCK

I have always used the OEM filter.
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

I usually run the emgo filters. They are cheap($3-$4) and seem to work well. The oil capacity is 1.69 quarts. I usually change mine about every 3 rides(or 3 months whichever comes first) unless I ride in really dusty conditions. Make sure you use an oil designed for wet clutch applications like motorcycle oil.
