Well i can tell ya two things from that pic. Its liquid cooled, and UGLY.
Posted by: Nausty
I think it looks cool from other angles.. I think it will be a awsoem machine depending on the shocks, aftermarket shock choices and weight. Oh and how well this new steering design works that was designed to rid of bump steer and they say it handles great but afterall thats from a polaris web site.

The rumor going around in Millfield was that it is Polaris's new quad????? He raced it in the hare scramble, and I almost caught him during the race, and I was racing my rancher!! He said after the race that he was just out taking it easy! Was he?!
Posted by: quad4stroke
he said he was going out to play around....rancher>>>i talked to your dad and he said you were riding your moms bike....you were flying....you just need a sport quad...you going to 5brothers harescramble on saturday?
Posted by: GNCCer
I'll be at 5 brothers saturday. Hopefully it will not be quit so dusty.
Posted by: quad4stroke
waiting for my pipe to come in...if not here friday im spectating at 5 brothers...i believe the dust wont be a problem this weekend...keep your fingers crossed

I am in the process of selling my rancher to my mom, but it is still partly mine. At least the new axle will be. I have a 400ex, but profab is building my motor right now. I ended up with a weekend off work, but all of my racing gear was at home, and I was at our camp in WVA so I grabbed the rancher, bought a new pair of goggles, and bummed an open face helmet and went racing!! I knew I was doing pretty good, but I didn't know I was about 5 minutes ahead of the second place Polaris until "POP" the axle broke. Oh well, it was still fun!!!
Posted by: GNCCer
you seem to have to wait on those pro fab motor quit a while
Posted by: GNCC#829
Actually, I just took it there Friday, he said the motor should take about 2 weeks. But he has to get the swingarm bolt out first. It was rusted into the motor. THAT SUCKED!!
Posted by: GNCCer
Two weeks isn't bad for scott. what di you have him due and how much did id cost if you don't mind me asking?
Posted by: GNCC#829
I am getting a 416 kit. It consists of Weisco 416 piston kit, All Gaskets, All Labor, All machine work, XR400 cam, Overhaul Cylinder head with three angle valve job, and new valve seals (according to his site) That will total $595. He told me that I need a HD timing chain for 100. Also for the old 400's you need a new intake manifold. He showed me where mine was starting to split. That is 29 bucks. But he said that it would be major surgury to get the motor out of the swingarm. That sounds expensive! He said he would save the swingarm though.

what part of Ohio are you from?
don't let him do any porting!
Posted by: GNCC#829
I am from Wauseon, Ohio. It is about 30 miles west of Toledo. He isn't going to port it, but why do you say that?
Posted by: GNCCer
I have seen some of his port jobs that look pretty ugly. I have also seen with a little touch up on his work another couple HP.

HA HA...yea i know! Does anyone know what the top speed of it is?
Posted by: Rip_Tear
With a Polaris there is only one thing you have to worry about, and that is it breaking down... LOL:devil
Posted by: roostin_dale
Yea pooplaris sucks! I should know too(look at my sig)!!!

Here is some advice to those who see this machine:
Get a big stick, and you become the predator and him the prey.
Posted by: roostin_dale
Hey TRX0220 this is off subject but did you get your title "BuFu=By us Fu*k you" off of the movie "How High"!? I was just wonderin!
Posted by: flyin#5
see that pos motor in that thing? it was made in my town. dont i feel special! NOT. everyone in my grade that has parents that work at the polaris factory says it will beat everything. lol

I saw it run at Maple Shade MX track this past weekend.....looked like an uglier stock Raptor going around....
Not impressive at all.
Doesn't make any sense to me why they built this quad.....
We do need a couple 500cc machines, but this isn't one. It's too heavy! If it had reverse, then I could live with the extra weight....but this thing doesn't fill the need. We either needed a lightweight 500cc race-breed quad or a slightly heaver quad with reverse.
I was not impressed with the overall package at all. The only trick thing on it is the tie-rod assyembly. Other than that, they can keep it!

The taller guy with the deep voice that was at maple shade he raced in our series so i had talked to him before. I would have like him race in the beginners class to at least see if he got the holeshot stuff like that i could have went around the track in second gear idling. The machine definately had seat time on it. Didn't like how the front of the frame was not angled up like on the hondas but i did like the ergos of it when you stood on it you weren't hunched over and i am 6'2". The clutch was smother than the 400 but still as hard to pull. Throttle seemed easy. Motor sounded little noisey but exhaust tone was fairly quiet. Front was way lighter than the back. It was 47.5 inches wide front and back not just back. He said some of the ergo and overflow bottle would be moved some stuff would be changed for the production models. Footpegs were tilted foward. Heavy machine at 415 pounds without reverse. He said he had raced raptors,z400,modded400ex,modded banshees, the only thing that competed were the modded 2 strokes and the cannondale said he prolly won about 80% of the races. He figured top speed of 70 to 75mph. Jus tthought i give a little info for those who haven't seen it.
Posted by: R-Crazy
Not to flame you, but a rator has a top speed of 77 MPH. That should pull slightly from it, is also 20 lbs. less. I think it and a Z400 would be a good race. a mod banshee should smoke it. it should also smoke it stock. and a mod 400ex should stick with it, maybe pull, dependig on how much $$$$ is invested. again, i am not flaming, but i think he overexagerated(sp?).

Not to flame you but i have not ever seen top speed numbers near 77 mph for the raptor. The raptor cannodale and the ds 650 are all close in top speed numbers all of them rangeing in th 68 to 75 mph. So i feel he wasn't running at the mouth that much. The way i took it he was saying that the Cannondales would win one he would win one. Far as lightly modded four strokes i am assuming, 400's piped,440,416,etc. The modded banshee he could not run with but i also don't know how far they were running. My personal feeling on modded 400's is, i'm sure it helps but i don't think it is that drastic of a difference. A 500cc machine should still beat a modded 440. Seens how a scrambler 4x4 has a top speed of 68 mph and you put that motor in a sport chassis i would say it runs what he said. This guy wasn't selling the thing to me. You want to hear BS sales pitches on how fast machines are cruise down to your local dealer.
Posted by: MEL
who cares what top speed is. i want to know how fast a machine gets there. i was at maple shade this weekend too, and i wasn't impressed at all. before they took their lap around the track i was talking to the test riders. they said the week before they wre doing 65 footers with no problems. from what we seen that day the think couldn't clear a 10 foot jump if it was start down. it really looked that bad, but it is hard to tell when they wre on the track all by them selves.

I stumbled across a site that was discussing the quad.....some guys on there said it was Polaris making it(I can't remember exactly but I think they said that it had alot of the Polaris suspension parts and that is why they believe Polaris makes it. Here is a pic of the Predator......
