when you are like in 2nd or 3rd gear it seems to just sputter out and die. (thats what my bro in law says, hes the last to ride it)
i was gonna yank the carb and double check that. but before i d i thought of this.
it has a fmf pipe and several holes in the airboxlid with a uni filter. does it just need to be rejetted you think? i dont think it was doing this before i put the holes in the lid.

ok thanks......how exactly do i knw what needles to buy and all that? im not real great with all this stuff. it has the pipe and holes in the lid. i live in the bay area, so im about sea level......any suggestions?

Raise the needle one spot (clip down), and go up a 3 sizes on the main jet. That should give you a decent start.

I've taken the airbox lid off of my 250ex and had no problems. Something else is causing your problem
