My starter button failed yesterday, I cut it out and took it to the dealer, he says I have to get the whole left side switch assembley, comes with headlight swith and kill switch, is this true?

Why would they make the switch removeable if I cant buy it seperatly, it took 1 screw and 1 clip to remove it from the rest of the switch, and to snip 2 wires.

They want about $50.00 for the switch. As a tempoary fix yesterday, I wired up a push button swith I had in my garage, it worked fine and may end up being a permanent fix.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, this is a 2000 300ex, I didnt see a forum for 300's, so I picked this one, should I have posted under the 400 forum?

Thanks for the link. I always wondered why they skipped a forum for the 300, it went from 250-400, now I know it buried down at the bottom, thanks again.
