what is the factory rev limited at on a 300ex?

Posted by: Sjorge300EX

somewhere around 9200

Posted by: rollie

not enough!, i beileve Big Gun makes a rev box for the 300 that adds 1000 more revs, i gotta pick that up

Posted by: rooster300ex

naw its not 9200 its more like 7500 and if you get an aftermarket cdi that over revs its usually 1000 more rpms. so it would rev limit at somewhere around 8500. correct me if i'm wrong. i'm sure somebody knows some exact rpms and things like that. magic racing has a good cdi. revs 1000rpms more.

i Have the Big Gun CDI box, i was trying to figure out what my new rev limit was.

Posted by: rooster300ex

I'm sure the big gun doens't over rev stock by more then 1000 rpms. so at your highest rpm your prolly around 8200-8500 rpms.

Posted by: alexmx22

thanks guys i found it, 8300rpm

Posted by: Sjorge300EX

yeah because i know that all the aftermarkets raise the limit to 9500.

sparks will make the stock one gone for $75 unlimited revs

thats not such a good idea. You run a much higher risk of blowing your motor up. And i know that the way that i take hairpin turns,(shift down once keep the RPMS high and power out) i would blow my motor up so easy.

It doens't rev that high stock nor with an after market one. now with the sparks yea maybe but it wouldn't last long. i don't feel the engine pulling at that high of rpms anyways. its just revved up.
