i had a long rod motor with a stock cylinder ported by lrd that ran a spacer plate with a 86 piston i'm now switching to a pc2000 power valve cylinder from duncan racing that uses a 86 piston with a spacer plate the question is the spacer plates are a little different thickness is this because of the aftermartket cylinder or do i have the wrong spacer plate any info would be great guys thanks i bought the powervalve cylinder used and this spacer came with it but he said he had a long rod motor to.

Usually, a thicker spacer means it was designed for a stroker crank engine. I am waiting on a 2 mil. stroker from ESR that requires a custom spacer for the extra throw on the crank.

thanks for the info thats kind of what i'm thinking but both motors were supposed to be the same lower ends.

different spacer plate thickness change the port timing of the motor and will make your torque curve more low end responsive or top end responsive

Yea, i just picked up my 250r today, and the spacer plate in it is about 1/4 inch thick. Is that pretty big for a spacer plate or no?

thanks guys i talked to mark baldwin today and beerock is exactly right it changes the port timing i was just worried that i needed a different length rod but not the case.
