This doesn't seem like a half bad idea
Rhino lining plastics
Posted by: trx400exxracer
it would look mighty good on your walsh450 since most of it is black
I mean doing it to stock plastic wouldnt be that bad and their would be no scratches

yup, ive seen a couple quads with it, mostly all xc quads. heard that although it is obviously going to be heavier, it still flexes good if they do it right. i personally think it looks pretty trick
Posted by: JDiablo
Ehh i wouldn't worry to much about weight, its not going to be a drag quad.
Posted by: trx400exxracer
seriously go for it
just buy some cheap yfz450 plastic and it doesn't matter how bad it is scratched up if you are going to do that so go for it I sdon't see any harm in trying
Posted by: ny300exrider
yeah the weight shouldnt be a concern, as long as its flexable, it should work good. add another vote to the-those would look sick on your blacked out yfz poll

some updates pix of it btw

It looks to me like mud would stick to that rough surface too good. Seems like it would be a pain to get the mud off.

You bring that thing up here this summer, I'll make shure that you get every inch of that black covered in some nice brown mud.

That is to expensive for those
Posted by: JDiablo

looks awesome. i would like to do that to my frame though instead. might be cool haveing frame, and plastics, then having everything else polished.

That might be a PITA because it is so thick im guessing, and getting the parts to fit might not even be worth it.

If you ever want to take that coating off to repaint your frame, you would probably be screwed, i dont think sandblasting would be very effective
Posted by: Sjorge300EX
i would do that to my frame i think it would look pretty good. How much does a can of that stuff cost?
Posted by: JDiablo
You have to get it applied,it doesn't come in a can.
Posted by: Rip_Tear
There are certain chemicals that will take that liner off, just FYI.
Posted by: JDiablo
Lol probably like sulfric acid.
Posted by: Crazy Diamond
Duplicolor makes it in a can and you can get it at Walmart. A smoother appearance but very durable. I have sprayed it in my door jams and it takes some heavy abuse.
Washing mud off the Rhinolinered plastic would be easy with a pressure washer and you would be able to use the engine degreaser at the car wash and it would come very clean. Getting the stuff off tho, you would probably have to get it burned off in a burnoff oven. I don't think there are any chemicals to get it off. It is very chemical resistant.
If you were to use it on plastics for racing you would probably wear out a pair of pants every race. It is very rough. But you would stick in place like you had a gripper seat all over your quad!

Also, the Duplicolor Truck bed coating in a can I mentioned looks to have the same appearance as JDiablo's frame. Just FYI! I just might have to try it on my a arms to see if it wears off on the bottom.

I have also seen it in a can, but it wasnt duplicolor. It was an off brand and it didnt seem to last that long IMO, but the duplicolor might work better.
