Whats up guys, I just got the pro design air filter kit for my 06. It comes with the a mesh cage inside the filter, kinda like the stock filter. Should I leave that in? Or would it be better w/o it?

Leave it in!

That keeps the engine from sucking your filter into the carb.I bet it wouldnt happen often tho.

on my 05 i run NO metal cage in my filter. that is what i was told to do by a few builders. i run a sparks billet ring which provides a good, solid mount to the intake boot. i use the sparks filter but it looks pretty much the same as the stock filter besides the color. if i had to do it again i would run a uni filter with the sparks billet ring.
