Lou, I can't handle your greatness....Besides I gotta feel good about myself and beat up on Dirt.

You gotta go and beat up on Lou. I would do it myself, but I figure I'll handle Dirt instead.

Posted by: dopeyferree

All you need is a kill switch. You can get your ATVA/AMA card at the track if you dont have one, then your regular entry fees

I hear ya on the out of shape. I haven't ridden in a couple months and have been sick all week with strep and a double ear infection. But I'll still be on the line in the B class. Look for a black Criswell powersports 450r but don't get too close you might catch what I had.

I wasn't planning on making out with ya! Just saying hello!
I hear everyone on the out of shape thing. I started there and just got worse.

omg how many excuses do you have? you may want to save some of those for later in the year!! . jk...how many of y'all are coming? will you have the trailer? I'm not sure if Ron is coming or not, he hates that place and its personnel! I'm pretty sure I'll be there either way. btw I am in really good shape and have been riding quite regularly....but am still slow ...I'll look for ya in the field!

please don't kiss derno! that would be ugly plus he's married (I think)

I raced a Blaster until the end of last season then I finished off the year in Open B on a 450R. now i'm on the 450R, I racing Open B. I saw you guys at Unadilla and Rasuch etc...

Oouch man! I think those are all of my excuses, but we'll see if I can't come up with a few more. It might just be me racing. Dan's quad is in pieces, James just got his together but probably won't race, and Brian might not get his done in time. I think James and Dan are still going to come to cheer everyone on and take some pics but we'll see. I'll most likely be in a grey f-150, no trailer this time.

Oh yeah tell Ron to make sure his purple golf shirt wearing *** is there racing. So what if his last race at Budds he dislocated his elbow.

There were quite a few fast guys that showed up. Borich, Lagzdins (who won it! way to go man), Neidlinger, and Rhodes to name a few. It was a fun track, but the typical Budds scoring problems reared their ugly head again.

Posted by: dopeyferree

I really wish I could have ran more than the first 20 feet or so. The B class had a bottle neck at the down hill left hand turn and I was stopped up against the person in front of me and got hit pretty hard from behind and it snapped my right side spindle. Didnt even get my YFZ dirty.

Was it the pin holding the spindle together? My buddy had problems snapping that pin until he went with aftermarket pins, I guess it was a common problem on 04 yfz's.

Posted by: dopeyferree

No, mine is an 05 YFZ, its the arm where the tie rod attaches to it, snapped in half.

P.S. We have to figure out somewhere to ride this weekend.

Don't even wanna hear that!!!!! You need to be here!!!!

Posted by: TWISTED

I've never been on that track. What's it like??? Would a 49" MX setup with 18's work????

Posted by: dopeyferree

A 49" set up would be okay but I dont know about 18's, We did see a guy out there with 20" rear and 19 fronts.

Posted by: Dupontster

I know a boy who raced last weekend and im pretty sure he had 18's in the rear. He was riding a raptor with +3 Longtavel a-arms, +3or4 axle. He didn't finish but he did start!

Posted by: TWISTED

I'd like to try that. Might be right up my alley.

Posted by: gnccblaze440

yea, i know i was behind him and we went off the bridge !

Posted by: cletusEX

The course they had setup this past Sunday was all wide open. They do have some tight sections that they usually through in during the normal HS races. A 49" quad would have trouble in these sections (46" rub on some trees). As far as 18" tires it depends on the weather. It it gets wet at all the bikes tend to leave some nasty ruts that 18" tires would have a lot of trouble with. Roots can also cause some ground clearance problems, I have seen chains thrown on 20" tires without a skidplate. I have raced their a lot and would not recommend a mx setup.

Posted by: TWISTED

Bridge???? Why did that happen?

You should have raced there before they put that bridge in, talk about a mud pit. I have some video of people going everywhere and my brother rolling my quad over coming out of that pit.

I think Dopey got me hooked. It was a blast! I'll have me some new shocks and tires for the next race in March. I'm thinking Elka or a revalve from GTT.

Posted by: Dupontster

Gary go ahead and buy yourself some 20's or 22's!

Posted by: TWISTED

I think another quad just for this, and one for draggin'.... Whatcha think about that idea????

Man did you guys see borich's TRUCK!
That thing was sweet!

Posted by: Dupontster

Yeah i definetly saw it. That thing was super clean! Im not a ford guy but I liked that one

Posted by: cletusEX

I want to know how he got the quad in the back. Even with it standing on the grab bar the front wheels barely touched the tail gate.

Posted by: Dupontster

What did he do just put the quad in the back of his truck? I thought the guys he was with brought it down in their trailer.

Posted by: dopeyferree

He shows up at some local races with his atv in the back of his truck, I think he only brings his big rig to the major events I would like to have seen him load it. Maybe he jumped it up on top of the enclosed trailer next to his truck and drove it into his bed.

Posted by: Dupontster

Maybe he had some 40ft long ramps

Yes it did happen, but you riding it had nothing to do with it.... Everything's fine. I just had to blame somebody..... HA!!!! It was your dad's fault for not being there... Itwas also Wayne's cause he was too cold or busy.... How's that, everybody's fault except mine...

So you herd about last night? Just do me a favor and don't say anything to him about it...he's kinda bumbed about the whole thing.

Posted by: JRP

oh i wont say anything to him.. we dont talk to much in school, jus in the hall ways. let me know when you will be down to the track..

Posted by: JRP

oh and also, when it warms up do you think you could show me how to put in my hotcam stg2? thanks

Sure no problem. Just bring it to my house one weekend and we'll throw it in there.
Don't buy a shim kit. Once we figure out what sizes you need, we'll go up and buy the singles at FMS....I get them for .55 each, so it shouldn't cost more that $2.50 for the shims. That's alot better than $75 for the kit.

Posted by: JRP

alright thanks, do i need to rejet or anything for it? also have you had any reliability issues with yours on your 450? thanks once again.

Posted by: 3x440ex

Yea, you'll need around a 175-180 main jet. Open the airbox, pull the baffle out of your exhaust and you'll be set. No problems with mine so far.

Posted by: JRP

well do you think i could jus leave my baffel in? because i live in a neighborhood and i know taking out the baffel makes it loud. i want to get an exhaust but im short on money.

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

So is the Mafia going to get an invite out to the twisted compound. Ian and I would like to get a little seat time this sunday. We'll behave. I can even bring the stock pipe if you think I'm to loud, thats all I do at Ian's.

Do you remeber what my quad looks like because I might have a hard time finding it.

Posted by: TWISTED

I own my property, NO NOISE ORDINANCE AT MY PLACE!!!! If you guys wanna come that's fine. I think you both will be bored though.

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

666 post you better post again quick. Hey man we are always up for a ride fields tracks trails it's all riding. Ian even wants to bring the walsh down. not the 2 wheeler. Does Ian know how to get to your place? We already talked and would love to come down weather permiting of coarse.

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

I also wouldn't mind meeting up with a few other riders around here. I know JRP wants to race D-13 this year. Which I plan on doing also.

Posted by: 3x440ex

666 also just happens to the # on the back of his jersey....JUST PLAIN EVIL.......

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

Thats just to funny.

Posted by: TWISTED

PM your # to me Terry, and I'll give you a call. Tom, make sure you're here this week, we've got two fast guys coming!!!!

Posted by: 3x440ex

OK......I'll be sure to stay out of their way.

If all you do is the cam, I think you will still need to go up on the jetting some; maybe one or two sizes. We'll have to look into that.

How did Brian do?

Derno... Did you beat your friends in the C class to keep your bragging rights?? 6th out of 51... Great job bud!

Great to see the pictures of the race, thanks a million!

Nope... Dramamine does not make you sleepy!

I understand if you have "motion sickness", Dramamine takes care of it with no side affects!

Hopefully I will hook up with Derno to do at least one East coast race with you guys!

In the meantime... Get in shape, have fun, and enjoy what some others can not experience!

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

Who fast is going to be there so I know to be outta there way. Don't be giving these guy high expectations of me. I'm not sure if I can live up to them anymore. 30 is just around the corner.

Posted by: 3x440ex

Shot 30's nothing, Wayne's 47 and one of the fastest I've ever seen.

Posted by: JRP

whos gonna be at budds feb 5th for the mx races? do the quads practice/race on saturday? ill be there, depending on weather. thanks

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

JRP Budds is race on sunday only. Quads don't have enuff respect in most district 7 tracks to ever have a saturday race. We have to race in the dirt bike lines to clear the track for the little guys.

Posted by: Dupontster

I'll be racing the 5th! Cant wait!

Posted by: JRP

hold on, so for district 7 you practice/race on sundays? if so then how do they fit all the racing/ practice in with the bikes too?

Posted by: JRP

this is the message i got from jonathan from budds creek. i wrote to him what is on the bottom or the message and his reply is on top. he makes it sound like i could race.

Sorry, he was partially right, for our District 13 race Nov 18 & 19th is the
only time you can do that. It's our only Sat practice of the year. At the
District 13 races you still need to sign-up to race on Sunday in-order to
ride Saturday..

You get a 1/2 hour practice on Sunday morning of our races, there are no
doubles and our track is as wide as an interstate if you want to think about
racing..

Dear sir/mam,

My name is jordan pepper and i am 15 years old. i ride a
450r and would like to practice there but not race. I am racing district 13

If you havnt been to Budds Creek yet, you really dont have to practice. I know it will help but the track is actually very amateur friendly. Mostly just some big hill and table tops. Its not a track that if you dont have time to figure it out your going to get yourself in trouble. I am a Cross Country racer and ridden several events that included the whole MX track and its actually a very easy fun track.

In district 7 you do not get practice like they do in 13. You get 1 4 lap practice for all quads if your lucky. the same for dirtbikes except A. Usually around 11:00 racing starts if the track is not busy during winter months you get 2 motos if its busy you get 1 6 or 7 lap moto. As far as you being 15 ama rules apply. I have heard of others who where not actually 16 racing. As far as practice goes you take every chance you can get to practice at Budds you will need it. The track is always different ask anyone who races MX there. Duponster can tell you how a change bit him last year.
