Hey i need some advice i want to put 400ex plastic on my 86 250r. ive seen it done before,and i think it looks good so i bought some 400 plastic.I need to know what to do about the gas tank cover do i need to put on a 400ex gas tank.what about putting the stock 400 headlight on will that work thanks.and what about the seat latch i think i might have jumped in over my head. thanks

it is actually fairly simple, you need to make some L shaped brackets to hold the front fenders, and an after market seat latch or make your own like i did
you can use the r tank with the 400ex tank cover

i just made my front brackets,it looks pretty good the tank cover doesnt look like its gonna work and how can i make my own seat latch thanks

the tank cover you will have to cut the whole front off of it

i think maybe a aftermarket seat latch will work, i just made my own with an 3/16" aluminum plate drilled some holes for mounting , cut the alignment studs off the 400 seat pan
and welded some aluminum studs on where the R seat pins would go into the frame with some holes drilled in them for retaining slips
