Hey Greg,
I can't answer your question but wanted to tell you that CMRC has updated their website and now has 3 races at Runway Park in the Soo for Central series. I bring this up cause you mentioned that it was going to crap, and it was, and I was pissed myself about only two tracks. This is pretty good, not great but better than it was. It also shows the MX school that will be held there I think May 20th.
I find this so weird too. There are quite a few other tracks around like in McKerrow and Solomon's in the Valley.

Ya I just saw it lastnight that they updated the schedule . I find it wierd that they would publish a schedule this close to the start of the season , then update it . They should have had all the tracks ready to go and a schedule complete THEN publish it . I know a few guys that already made alternate plans for the weekends that weren't Central series races .... now thnat screws their schedules .

The Solomon's had complaints from a neighbour and the City of Sudbury had charged George for not having the proper permits to sell admission tickets . They wanted him to pay fines of over $1000 , then buy this special permit which was over $1000 also . He told me it wasn't worth it .

I doubt McKerrow will ever be on the schedule again . Many of the racers complained that it was too dangerous because it was very narrow and the jumps weren't built properly . One of the last times they held a race there , one girl busted up her hip/femur pretty badly , and some guy ended up in the bush wrapped around a few trees . They had to call the ambulance 3 or 4 times that day . I know my buddy Josh took a pretty good digger that day cuz him and another guy were battling to see who would make it over a small double first .... the jump was only wide enough for 1 quad .

Posted by: DVXchic

another of rusaw, looks kinda wierd in the pic.

Posted by: DVXchic

and just a random one of everyone, The rest of them were messed up, people missing heads and stuff

so when we gonna do it again. I'm thinkin a good trail ride to some of the local fun spots around here would be great.
Ernie Austin wants to come out soon and try out his new ride, so maybe we can get some more people out here.

Posted by: Quad18star

Good pictures ... looks like a fun day .

What's Ernie Austin riding now days ?? Last I saw him , he was on an aftermarket framed 250r.

Posted by: 400exBro

good pictures!!!!

Breaking bumps are good if you want to get better, ruts are bad though...

I wish i could get breaking bumps on my track, but i think it is to hard packed.

Posted by: Z440racer

Where is every one riding this weekend. Me and some friends are going to Raglen Big Pit on sunday to rip the sand it gives ya a good work out

I'm pretty sure I saw Plante at the Elka shop today. He has pitted next to me several times so I'm pretty sure it was him. New trx in his truck all stock except a walsh swingarm.

I live just south of the QC border in Northern VT. I'm interested in trying one or two of the CMRA races this year but the webpage is hard to understand. The Elka guys showed me the track that isn't far from there shop(just south of MTL) and it looked like a nice natural track. I'd like to check that track out maybe. What is the turnout for a CMRA race and what do they have for classes?

The turnout is pretty good at the south races, but central is kinda hurtin, its easy to understand if it says atv or just mx classic, its for quads...

Theres junior, intermediate and pro, choose your weapon.

Best bet for you would be to race in Quebec, a lot more riders then in Ontario.
Plus they are a lot faster up there too.

Posted by: Quad18star

So ...... how was Gopher Dunes ???

Posted by: Roostar 450

Ernie Austin now has a fully built curtis sparks YFZ 450 that he got off the net. Its all done i think it has JRD chassis stuff and fox floats. ( the good ones ) He traded his old 250r to mat bos for his 450r. It was a good deal both ways. He will be racing CMRC this year. Gopher Dunes was alright really really whooped out good for arm pump and setting up your shocks. there are some fast guys out there this year. and more to show up to the first race.

Making me want to head to Gopher more and more for the ATV Nats . Any word if most of the southern guys will be making the trek to RJs for the race in a couple weeks??

Edit .... Nevermind ... I'm not going to watch the races at RJs , I just realized that weekend is Easter weekend ... stupid scheduling !!!!

Posted by: DVXchic

Hey guys, Lakeshore dirt riders is a go for ATVs. These guys have races almost every weekend starting April 22. They say they need 10 quads minimum to hold the race. It is an open class so anyone with a quad over 200ccs can race. They also say if they have a great turnout of quads in the spring series, they will carry it out the rest of the year and depending on the amount of quads they will have different classes.
LDR membership is $90 and each event is only $15.
Check out the website for detail

thats a nice looking ex!!!

First race this weekend, i hope i can get everything working...
My suspension worked treble on sunday, probably going to send it to Precision concepts or GT thunder to have them work their magic on these shocks...

Posted by: shano

how was gopher?

Rj next weekend!!

Posted by: 400exBro

Gohper was good...

Greg Gee walked away from everyone, not sure what happened to james in the first moto, but he came back in the second moto and finished 2. went 4-2 for 3rd overall. Petker went 2-3 for 2nd overall, i think the honda suited him better.

Rusaw took a nasty spill off of one of the table tops, when others and myself rode by it looked like he was knocked out... But he was alright...

i will probably race at Auburn, not sure yet because that is the weekend i am suppose to move back to school to finish my 1A term...

Posted by: 400exrida06

LOL ya i heard Greg smoked everybody, now hes gone to the states to race, how did my neighbour Ryan Varros or Nick Naggy if you know who he is lol. thanx

Posted by: 400exBro

Ryan went 3-DNS, not sure why he didn't start the 2nd moto??
not sure what Nick got.

Posted by: Roostar 450

yea i am alright i just set my shocks up for good now. i will be out alot faster at Rj's cant wait to get out there and race again.

Who's looking for a sport quad and has a 4x4 ..... I need to sell or trade mine . Here's the add I posted in the For Sale section !!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Still up for sale or trade .

I'm still looking for a 4x4 quad .. prefferably a Grizzly 660 or a Kodiak 450 . Will not trade for a snowmobile unless it's a 2004 MXZX 440 .

I have not used the quad since August 15th 2004 .... no that's not a typo .... it's been almost 2 years since I've riden this quad . I have AT MOST 20 hrs of use on this quad and it's never been raced . Looking to trade or sell outright for $6800 Canadian . I'm located in Sudbury Ontario Canada .... 3hrs from Sault Ste Marie ,Michigan.

Here is an updated picture of the quad just taken the other day !!

Note *** Studs have been removed from the tires . I will include the Curtis Sparks air filter , White Brothers e-brake block off , shock covers , K and K decompression plug , brand new spare battery ( never been charged) , box of used tire screws (still get ice traction out of them) and whatever else I have laying around for this quad ***

Posted by: DVXchic

Hey guys, jeff jer and i went and checked out the cochrane LDR track today, its got some pretty good jumps for you experienced guys and a cool rythem section, We will deffinitly be there to watch, wish we could ride but both the bikes are broken, I am pretty sure i would killl myself anyway, Rusaw said he was comin out to ride, so whoever is interested it should be a great race..

Posted by: Dubzy14

what? ryan said yesterday hes comming to cmx haha...how is there going to be 10 riders if you and jeff cant race? its gonna be a close call I think, but hopefully not

Posted by: shano

I wish theres was ONE series for just quads, so we could all go to the same races and get big turnouts, instead we got 10 ppl going to 3 different sanctionned races.

Posted by: Dubzy14

yea that would be nice...CMA has one,,but its like TT or grand prix...but they need a moto cross not tt haha

Posted by: Quad18star

Who's going to Parry Sound next weekend for the CMX race ?? If the weather is nice , I'll probably go and watch !!!

Posted by: ontarioracer#33

on cmx website they said that the race next week in parry sound has been moved to may 7th ill most likely be there on the 7th though

Posted by: Dubzy14

ill be there..i was racing burnt river the weekend before..how was LDR to the rest of the people that went there?

Posted by: ontarioracer#33

ah burnt river sucks in the rain plus i had a dead battery so it wasn't that good of a day but hopefully parry sound will be better

Posted by: Dubzy14

oh you were there? what class u ride in?

Posted by: Dubzy14

wait wait you were the one being towed around right ? haha

The LDR race was cancelled last weekend due to the muddy track conditions, it was non stop rain and cold as well, kinda glad it was cancelled, not that i was riding anyway.
Muttco mountain is this coming weekend in centerton. We will be there if our bikes are ready.

Move it up to the top !!!

Anyone have anything interesting happen in the last week ? Any races anywhere? Practice? Anything ????

Posted by: Roostar 450

I went to practice at my own track on monday first time out there this year. It was amazing i built huge jumps though a little too big for the kinda tracks we see around here. I will get some pics of them when i get home before dark somtime. Other than that does anyone know if the gopher dunes race this weekend is just saturday and not sunday. I know that they have a double header for the bike but i think its only the saturday for the quads. Nothing really going on i am thinking about going to the Joe Byrd riding school at the end of august. Anyone interested in going can tag along. its alot of money but the way i look at it is i have spent all the money on the quad and not me so now its my turn.

Posted by: 400exBro

there are running races at both days for gopher.
Regular Provincal on saturday and then a pro - am class sunday

I will be running both class this weekend!!!!!

see ya there

Posted by: clutt225

Well LDR had its first race an we made our 10 quads no prob. I think we had about 14 or so.

Posted by: Dubzy14

im really looking forward to the CMA parrysound weekend now..we get to race both the mx track and the TT ..it should be good

Posted by: Dubzy14

haha oo, of course it was #10...whos all going to brighton sunday if its nice out?

Posted by: DVXchic

Jeff and i are pretty excited as well, that MX track was fun last year when we played on it.

Posted by: Dubzy14

oh yea i cant wait...do you have your DVX raedy to race yet terri?

Posted by: DVXchic

Probably most of the same guys as last weekend, I have a feeling its going to get cancelled though, apperently it turns into a big mud hole. If its not, i may be racin too, thats if the bikes back together

Posted by: Dubzy14

yea i hope it doesnt rain, i need practice for beating 53 this year haha

Posted by: DVXchic

are u comin out to the race, or will you be somewhere else?

Posted by: Dubzy14

yea if its decent weather ill be there...theres no more races until june 4th..which is CMA, or in this weird place for cmx..but i need to go to cma because of our team thing were doing thsi year

Posted by: DVXchic

We're pretty pumped about the CMA series, I think we will both do really well, I want to try running in intermediate with the boys and of course the ladies class.
Well i hope to see you there this weekend, gotta go, busy day tomorrow, goin gamblin and to alan jackson concert. talk to you soon.

Posted by: Dubzy14

Posted by: ontarioracer#33

CMA thats TT racing right???

Posted by: Dubzy14

its soposed to be TT...but its nothing like it at all, its not like the american, its more like tame motocross with a few jumps and lots of hills...high speed tracks, lots of fun

Posted by: ontarioracer#33

o ya i might have to come out to the parrysound weekend then

Posted by: Dubzy14

on the parrysound weekend we run the mx track on saturday, and the tt track sunday..the mx track is awesome

Posted by: gibson400ex

jasmin was there, he won the pro, but OUR pro rider was on his @ss the whole time

to me it dosn't matter what serie's your racing, as long as your racing

Posted by: Quad18star

Anyone got a sport quad for sale ?? Preferably something that has aftermarket parts on it . There's dick all in the Trader except for a 250r . I'm looking for a 4 stroke .

Well you know , if the price is right , why not have both ... a 4x4 and a sport quad ... right ???

Posted by: Roostar 450

hey guys just moving it back up to the top. We gotta keep this thread going here. first ATV national is coming up going to be fun.

Posted by: shano

Prov race june 4th

Posted by: clutt225

Just incase your not running the prov mx race. The TT races start this weekend at brighton speedway. It is not like the TT in the states, a mx setup works great. it is more like tame mx with some flat track section. Last year we used abiout 3/4 of the dirt stock car clay track, then the infeild had some small doubles and a table. Its some good racing if you are close enough to show up.

Brighton is east of cobourg west of bellville on the hwy401.

Posted by: Z440racer

who is all going to brighton If you going I will probly show up. Only to wach I broke my coller bone last saterday

Posted by: Roostar 450

i'll be there

Posted by: 400exBro

Ryan
Where were ya 2nd moto at RAT track?

2nd moto was drangours, a lot of JRs crashed, but they did shorten the track some.

Posted by: clutt225

I will be there but prob wont be to fast I broke my pinky finger the weekend before last.

Posted by: Dubzy14

ill be in brighton...they better let us use more of the inside of the track, i dont feel like bringing out another 400 bucks for tires

Posted by: clutt225

but the stock car track is so fun. and this year I will have the bike for it. The ex was like watchin paint dry on that part last year.

I have been waiting till after brighton to get my new ruber.

Posted by: Dubzy14

haha i with i had some ***** tires for that part of the track, but some good ones for the infield mx part

Posted by: clutt225

ya my hole shots are done. so let em fry. I think I might go kenda claw next time. The hole shots don't last and if there is any wet on the track they suck real bad. Do you know any one who has claws?

Posted by: Dubzy14

hmm i really cant think of anyone, but i heard their a very "narly" tire haha...like for real

Posted by: shano

I have klaws, actually have 2 sets on douglas 190's, I love them to death, I might sell one set, 98% thread left, rims are mint also. (honda bolt pattern, 18inch)

Posted by: shano

Oh and im selling my cannondale, I want a kfx450! Be the only one in ontario with a full race cannondale, Ive never lost to any other quad on this thing!(drag race) asking 6500 inquire for mods!

Posted by: clutt225

The practice was a mud hole but it dried up for the races. My first moto I still had my big razzers on (bad tire for the conditions).
Second moto I had a flat tire. My hole shots let go in the side wall.
Excuses aside I rode like ****, breaking to soon and a host of other mistakes. Oh well thats part of racing. Just wanted to post somthing to keep the thread going. see you at round 2 parrysound

Posted by: Quad18star

Anyone going to Walton this weekend??

I know there's a few guys from around town heading there . What for a guy on a Limited Edition ( black/yellow) YFZ named Shawn Marinoff and a guy on an LTR ( yellow) named Lionel Roy . Both should be racing the Pro class and are pretty good .

Shawn said he's gunna huck the natural double !!!!

Good Luck #91

Posted by: knight rider

ya i blew up the new ltr 450 the piston hit the intake valves and bent them im just waiting on a new piston then ill be back on the track in no time

Posted by: Z440racer

May not make the parry sound race my Dodge's torque converter just locked up, that might cost some real money. Also need more parts fore the quad. The good news is my coaler bone is doing really good.

Posted by: Ex_Rider43

Gopher Dunes national is on hold right now due to the lack of sponsors. We will get the confirmation this week-end at Ste-véronique.

Posted by: 400exBro

there is still a chance that it will be held on a later date if the sponsors will pull through.

Lets hope so because Frank really wants to put on the atv national!!!

Plus they just added a big 80-90 foot table top, so it would be awsome to see some pros lunch off of it.

Looks like Greg Gee did pretty good down in the USA over the weekend . I believe he got 8th in one class and took home 1st in 265A I think it was .

Jasmin got a DNF in both motos of the Pro-Am and got 11 or 12th I think in another class.

Well guys, looks like i'm out for the season, i was playin around the track at our house last friday and came up too short on a double, the bike and i did a couple of cartwheels an i ended up breaking my right wrist. i had surgury on saturday, they hed to put a plate in it to hold everything together.
Oh well, i guess i can sit back and analize the girls for next year and concentrate more on the business.
So far i think i only bent the stem on the dvx, but i sold the swinger and aarms already.

Damn that really blows .

I hope you have a full and speedy recovery .

Ya Greg Gee's doing pretty good, hes never in school no more and his parents just baught a brand new hummer the other week!

Posted by: clutt225

Well it was good to see you in parrysound kevin. Glad to know that your collar bone is OK.
Mine on the other hand is broken. I thought it was pulled muscles, but went to the hospital last night just to be sure. It is a clean break that should heal well. but none the less that was a long drive to run a lap and a half in practice.

Runway park 2 day event, should be some sick racing boys! Everyone should go, its july 8-9 i beleive and everybody who wants to get beat by a c'dale should go

So see ya'll there.

Posted by: Ex_Rider43

I just got back from the second national in St-Blaise , that was the sickest race I have ever been to. Hardpack just like the US tracks , good jumps , fast fast fast.

There is over 300 pictures on www.shiftnrace.com , click on ''photos'' in the menu on your left.

For you guys from ontario , James banks was on fire in his 1st moto , he finished 3rd but he didnt had the best start , but he was running at the same speed that Jasmin and Rich were. these 2 battled for 15 minutes for the whole 2 motos , Jas pulled 2 holeshots and Rich tried to pass him using every damn line possible in the track but Jasmin was so focused that he always got the first place back after the next curve . There is also Adam Hodgson (88) from Alberta who's doing pretty good in the pro class.

Next round of the Canadian ATV National series will be at Paisley, ON , in 2 weeks. The CMRC recently announced that the Pro purse for a National event will be set at 5000$. 3000$ for the Pro 450 class and 2000$ for the pro-am 450 class.

Elka suspension is a major sponsor of the series , For the nationals , Elka owners can get trackside support from them at the elka trailer.

Here's some pics of me , Im racing the intermediate class this year, I was 3rd in the championship before this round. I finished 12th overall this weekend , Electrical issues in the first moto caused a DNF and I got 6th in the second moto.

hey guys i went to the rat track today to watch my local fave. james bank not james banks!we just missed moto 1... moto 2 was awesome ...james got a bad start and was back around 10th place ...man did he make up gound he passed everyone like they were standin still ...he got up 2nd ...and kinda backed off to safe himself for the final didnt see the final tho wish i could

Posted by: 400exBro

Pelchat went 1-1 for the overall
Banks went 2-2 for 2nd
and i believe Plante went 4-3 for 3rd..

in Practice Jasmin's YFZ broke and he had to race on a stock ltz450!!!! he pulled the holeshot in the first moto, and was holding of Pelchat for one lap, on a STOCK ltz450. if Jasmin's yfz didn't break down he would have been up front with Pelchat for sure...

i have some videos and pics at home, i will see if i can get them uploaded sometime
