ive been reading on some posts that the kfx and z 400 have frame problems, i am looking into getting a kfx 400 but ive been reading about all these frame problems. is that only on the older modles or on all models?

From what I understand, the problem was MUCH worse on the older models. Since '05, the frames have been pretty good. If you are going to race, you'll want to gusset it anyway. But for normal trail riding, shouldn't be a problem w/ a newer model.

alright thanks, i was just wondering cause when i get mine, i dont want to be riding down the trails and come back to find my frame is cracked to s**t and have to spend 2,000$ dollars on replacing it. but thanks.

hey man I would not worry about the frame, 05, and 06, KFX and Z400 have Clutch Cover corrision problem. The coolant is eating up the cooling passage right near the water pump. That should be your first fix if you get an 05 or 06. ( Buy a 04 or 03 Clutch cover). Theres a guy on www.z400central.com selling them for a decent price check it out. ( advanced is his name)
