im lookin to buy a dvx, ltz, or predator. My only concern with the dvx and ltz are the frames. Could some owners please say if they have had any cracked frames and what year they were. I have heard thew '03s are really bad but the 04's got alittle better. It will be used by the way

If you have an 03-04 you **need** to gusset the frame if you plan on doing any serious riding/racing. The newer models have better shock supports, but again, if you race you should still gusset it. Bare Peformance makes a really nice kit that takes care of all the trouble spots.

im pretty sure the 04s and up are fine. the 04 was the year they changed the the frame and made all the big changes to stuff. the 04s should be fine but somebody correct me if im wrong, dont wona give out false info.

I have an 04 and had it gusseted just in case. There are threads over at z400central that talk about the 04's being a little better then the 03's...but some still cracked at the shock mounts.

It's better to be safe then sorry.

i HAVE AN 03 BOUGHT IT NEW AND PUT THE ARENS FRAME BRACE ON IT AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY FRAME. KNOCK ON WOOD! BUT ALL I DO IS TRAIL RIDE.
