Has anyone used the LT80 light/hood from James Lucky, its made by Maier? If so is it a easy hook up and how good is the light?
Thanks

simple to hook up. works fine for price. good for slower speeds like stock lt80. Its not as bright as a full size quad light. I'd buy another one

I've read several posts in other forum stating that over time, the single hood light will eventually drain the battary. If happens on your LT80 as well, you many want to upgrade its factory stator to a "high output" stator. This high output stator and/or light can also be obtained from Ricky Stator. The link is: http://www.rickystator.com/pages/LT...ting%20kit.html
If wondering, I originally installed a single 35W light on the center hood of our Pred-90. It could hit a fly 10 stories high (well, maybe not that good) but it did NOT shine the sides of the trail very well. For us, I replaced our single light with 2 x smaller lights. During the summer, we use 2 x 10W bulbs (for DRLs) and for our winter shorter time runs, we us 1 x 10W bulb + 1 x 20W bulb. Being 2 bulbs that are lower to the ground, they shine closer to the front tires. This is where young riders keep their vision. For details, surf: http://bbs.off-road.com/ubbthreads/...e/0#Post1467867
If I had to do it again, I'd install 2 x front lights in the shock tower or lower front hood area. Much like: http://www.rickystator.com/pages/TR...ting%20kit.html
Hope this helps as well....
