ok i got the flywheel mark "T" lined up, the tensioner is lose and the marks on the cam gear dont want to line up exactly with the head..the mark on the right is about 1/8 inch above being level with the head....this isnt the first time ive put it back together but it is the fisrt time i cant get it to line up..could the chain be stretch or something..i have a stock cam with decompression assembly still on it..i tried to run it like this but it barley starts and backfires like a ***** when it does run.i know i has to be off timing.someone has to help please

Have you tired taking it right down again and putting it together again, some times it's just werid like that.

try spinning the motor around twice to the "T", you could be on the wrong stroke of the engine, I'm not sure if it needs to be on the intake or exhaust stroke- but you can have it 180 degrees out- just a thought
