just got a brand new 05 TLD predator and i love it. but the tranny seems loud. just wondering if this is normal? any info or feedback would be great. im about to take it back to the dealer to have it checked out. thanks

Would it be the chain guard and chain making the noise. Mine is pretty loud

I just bought mine on Friday, and I noticed the same thing. I haven't had a chance to investigate because I have been out of town and only took a couple of trips up and down the street on the night I bought it.

Does anyone else have any insight?

i just got mine too, and it makes the same sound, so i guess is normal

When I had mt new TLD this psring I was wondering the same thing...

Under acceleration I did not hear it but when slowing down in gear I could hear a sort of gear whine. I chcked with other 05 pred owners and 50% had then 50% did not, no one had problems.

I was told that the noise is because of the reverse that is added to the tranny, just my 2 cents.

Ive had my tld 05 pred for about a year and the noise coming from the tranny is either not as loud as before or I dont notice it lol////////////

i went riding at the badlands last weekend. I'm 99% sure it's coming from the chain and chain guard. It seems to get quieter the more its ridden. Nothing to worry about I'd say...

most preds do it, when a friend and i got our 03's they did it. it is just the chain guide, nothing at all to worry about

ya but when i pull the clutch in the noise goes away. so how could it be the chain guide? plus my bike is starting to run like crap. this thing is goijnbg back to the dealer.

i just got mine this fall and noticed the tranny was a bit louder then i would like to hear it also. from what everyone else has been saying im starting to think we should not worry about it too much?
