do they make 400ex's race against 450's.
im talkin about a 400ex with a stock engine and after market frame componits.

Down here the classes are pretty much open to anything i raced D class my first race on a 400ex against another 400ex raptor a yfz450 and blaster at the finish line it was 400ex, yfz, blaster, raptor, me (i wrecked).

I believe GNC has a stock class for this year, but if you choose to run a stock 400 against 450's than thats your problem. Not trying to be a dick but its just that 450cc is the norm now. Stock 400 might be able to compete somewhat in the lower C - class levels, but after that theres not much chance. If your gonna stick with 400 your gonna need some good modifications....suspension and motor both and practice and endurance will be a big factor !

Stock is what it says, stock. You race it like it just came out of the factory. You can add nerf bars, tether cord, etc. You just can't add performance parts or do any engine work.

If your good your good ive seen piped filtered and jetted EXs beat piped 450s depends on the rider if you have a better technique and more skill then you can.

well i know on a supper cross type track a 400ex would probly do ok but on a mx track with kinda long streights the 450s are gona fly past me plus their shocks will handel alot more than mine.

if i put stock 450 shocks on my 400ex is it called stock or not cus their stock shocks of a stock quad still.

Sorry dude but stock means what came on your bike stock. Changing to 450R stock shocks would be the same as droping the motor in too. That is why many believe that the GNC stock class was created to push Honda and Yamaha into building a quad to match the new Z450 in stock trim.
