my friend bought a 06 yfz450 about a month ago...3 rides later he says it wont start because of a tranny problem...overheats too fast and the heat sensor stalls the quad after only 5 minutes or when it gets hot and its not possible to start it up again until its cold...its winter time here so tranny doesnt work to hard in slippery conditions..hmmm
anybody heard of that problem
dont get me wrong i have respect for both 450s, i'm kinda glad im a honda fan though!

sounds like a lemon. should get fixed under warranty

I would suggest that he goes back to the dealer. He shouldnt be having problems.
One question. I dont understand how he thinks it wont start becauase of the Tranny?

I recommend not riding it until you fix the damn thing! There might be a problem with the impeller / water pump. Other YFZs have had a problem with their impeller shafts but with some hours on them.
