What would be better 86-87 piston and jug with the spacer on an 89 bottom end or 88-89 top end stock.

All depends on the porting. The 86 jug isn't bridged. I could be wrong but I think you get more case volume with the 86 jug on a 87-89 bottom end. I could be wrong, but I thought thats what the pros used to run.

guys jugs dont matter. u hafta run a spacer plate with any jug if u use an 86 piston on an 87-89 bottom end... what setup is "better" all depends on what u want out of it.

iguess I was just wondering if one made more power than the other because it seems like alot of people use the 86 style piston and jug I have the 89 engine and I just wondered because the 86 has those restrictions in the intake if it performs as well.

the reson lots of people are running the 86 piston and the 87-89 bottom end is because the 87-89 pistons dont come in sizes over 68mm. my cylinder is a 69mm bore therefore i have to run the spacer plate with the 86 piston. From what ive heard (I havent rode with this cylinder yet) the only advantage to using the 86 piston is that it gives it a smoother powerband.

hmm sounds pretty even then. eddie sanders are you the real eddie sanders or is that just a name you made up. I mean like the ESR eddie sanders. You probably arent and I will probably get flamed but oh well.

I would say hes prolly not since he has a sparks 265R. Seems like bad business to run the competitors stuff.
I wondered the same thing at first though.

talking to macdizzy, he prefers the 86 barrels for the torque.
