it's not the battery it's the computer for the fuel injection

It is the battery and it shouldn't be a problem located there. Goodl luck trying to find a spot to relocate it.

Yeah, thats the battery. Should not pose any problem being there, thats similar to where Cannondale/ATK has their batteries and I've never heard of them being a problem or has mine ever been a problem and the Cannondale/ATK battery doesnt even have a box around it or anything, its out in the open. I've had the Dale through countless numbers of creek crossings and such that completely submerged the battery without ever having a problem.
Also the battery is down there in order to lower the center of gravity.

It would lower the cg alot, and would protect it from the swingarm hitting it like it does on the Yamaha. It would also bounce around less mounted there than it would mounted in back. Seems like a good place to mount it.

Like these other guys said, its mainly for the lower CG. Theres nothing but good coming from it.

....And you know that how?
Posted by: diangelo#67
look at it ti's thin like an ecm on a car but if you experts say so I guess it's a battery right next to the exhaust
even though only a few have seen this thing in person everybody knows what parts are what right

It is the battery. Jonas saw it at the quad show in person, and stated it's the battery. However, I'd probably assume the EFI computer is under that shroud as well. So, you're both right.
See the LTR450 released thread. Page 4 half way down.

. Where would you put it (EFI computer) when you remove the battery for the kickstarter?
Posted by: bwamos
It's probably mounted to the frame like the CDI boxes are now. Probably just remove the battery and shroud. Who knows they may even have a different cover for it.
No telling if the EFI is even there.. I jsut assumed so since the wires are coming out of it (right above the stator) and heading to fuel pump (with the blue/purple hoses coming out of it).
I really like the looks of the LTR. Revalve and respring it to a ZPS system, lowering ride height about 2", add Flexx Bars, killswitch, nerfs, etc. and you have a damn nice MX'r.

props sorry for spoting off you are right and I'm not gonna tell ya how I know

It may be good for center of gravity but it's ugly there.

Bah, everyone will just put a chrome or powdercoated cover on it with their favorite logo, anyway.

heres an article on it and it explains what that box is, not the battery
