my ex has been sitting for a while cause the frame was thrashed. and now i almost got her back together and im wondering could i just change the oil and not the filter. cause since my last oil change i only ridden like not even 10 hours at like 15 minutes at a time. and the closes honda dealer around here is like and hour away. and i would barely be riding it anyways cause its winter up here now.

Change it. You should change the filter everytime you change the oil.

if you just got it back together, dont cheap out on a $5 part, order it off the internet, it will be at your door in like 3 days

I change the filter just so I can change the oil...

The manual for my street bike says to change the filter every other change so it probably wouldnt hurt but I agree with every one else. They have stp filters at autozone that fit my 300ex for $5 soI wouldnt risk it for that little bit of money.

well i started it last night. after not being started for a while and its making a noise in the lowend. this kind of loud winding noise dont have any clue of what it could be. and it was cold as hell last nite when i started. im thinking its the starter. but once i get more money saved up im rebuilding the whole motor. i just got all my suspension on yesterday.
