6 ply tires, skids, kill switch, hand gaurds, nerf bars those are the basic things you need then you can get a pipe filter those kinda things

shocks would be the best thing you could do

Start out small, with things like Killswitch, Handguards, Bumpers, Skids. Just the bare necesities to get you started. Then after you start and you like it you can move up to move expensive items, like A-Arms, Shocks, and then after the Chassis is complete bring on the motor mods!

I've had good luck with maxxis tires. I run razr 2 fronts and razr1 rears. If it is going to get real muddy you can't beat IRazr rears. I've heard good things about ITP HD's but have yet to try a pair. I used to run ITP's but had problems getting flats, but flats are possible with any tire. I think you'll be happy with any of the 6 ply tires from ITP or Maxxis. I run 20's in the rear and 22's up front.

What about engine mods? what are the simplest/cheapest things to do and implements to the biggest gain?

maxxis tires last 3 times as long as itp
go with maxxis 2 frount and irazers on the rear
get a hmf pipe they make great low end torq
and a realy good foam filter like umi and but a outerwares over it to keep out the dust and water

I have had great luck with the ITP HDs and XCRs. Maxxis tires from what I have seen prunture way to easy. My hds have never gotten me stuck.

go with the maxxis2 frounts they bite like no other. hd or Irazars in the rear

What kind of A-arms woud yall suggest? how wide, brand and so forth.

Get a credit card with a $10,000 limit first....
that would be fore the bike.
Then get another one for $20,000 and use it for getting to and from the races...
Good luck

I tried to but the credit people said that since im in college that i wouldnt be able to pay em right away...i mean...they dont need it RIGHT away

I would run standard width long travel A-arms. I run stock because I gots no $$$$$.
Posted by: djohansen05
Who makes standard legnth long travel a-arms?
Posted by: JDiablo
To save yourself money,go with burgard, you can get them custom made,i would get +1/2 inch Lt arms, and a stock lenth maybe even a negative length swinger.Elka shocks, and heavy duty skids

leave the motor stock. throw on a DR.D pipe. K&N air filter. Hiper rims. and a set of the new Lt Houser a-arms.http://www.houser-racing.com/sites_...FZ450_pg02b.htm

i would run maxis raxer 2 up front and razers on the back. a good set of wheels are not a bad idea ither like T- 9 baja or something like that. im trying to buy a set of hyper's for next season. of course if money is an issue the you can always run the stock class. to see if its something that you really want to do.

we have found that if you run +1 a arms that take a standard length shock run 4 to 1 off set wheels that it gives you about the same travel as long travel does and its alot cheaper way to do it as well.

I saw a guy with a yfz long trvl or like .5 wider. Houser, ARS. look at chris borichs quad he has a great set up. his a-arms are like upside down gull wing a-arms.

or just get sum good shocks that will make a lot of differnce and make you ride better and get a good soft seat your but will thank you
