I just ported out the lip in my stock exhaust header and after I played on it to see how much of a power difference it made, I noticed that it was ticking. What is the stock clearance for setting the valves? My quad is completely stock except for the porting I just mentioned and i race cut front fenders.

.004 for both intake valves
.005 for both exhaust valves

make sure the header just isn't leaking air. that may cause a tick.

Did you replace the copper header gaskets?
