I kinda stole the idea for this post from the wd-40 one but whats the difference right. anyone else use carb cleaner like i do? i use it for everything. it strips dirt and grime off like nothin ive ever used. i clean my o-ring chain with it too and no problems at all. has anyone ever had any bad experiences with it?

yeah i wouldn't use it on everything. it wil eat of paint, eat plastic, and it tear the rubber up on the o-rings. the only time i use it is to clean bare metal or what its designed for.

ive heard that but ive never had a problem. i used it on the o-ring chain on my blaster, on my kx125 and now on my 400ex.

Brake Clean works pretty darn well too but the carb cleaner seems a little stronger. I usually only use them to clean bare metal parts if i'm taking something apart or for cleaning the threads of a bolt before reinstalling. I'd be iffy about using them to clean my o-ring chain, just use kerosene or WD-40.
