Ok, i just bought my yfz 2 days ago. I live in south dakota and i bought it in denver. WHen i brought it up here it runs like sh**. The previous owner took the baffel out and is running it w/o the air box lid. And also i had it running for a while and the pipe was red hot. It backfires very bad. Is it just the jetting or is my motor shot????

Sounds like the motor blew....

Hahah just messin with you. What is your jetting at? Did the other guy ever change it after he took the baffle out? It sounds lean to me. Check the jetting and go from there

needs to be jetted....

i was running my 05 yfz with no airbox lid and a slip on hmf pipe befor motor work and it ran just fine

pretty sure its your jetting. denver colorado is very high above sea level so the jetting is probably way off for your elevation.
