Leagers or Houser?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm building a project quad thats gonna be on a motor show mid februari.

It has been apart, powdercoated and stuff, but now its time to put it back together. So its time to make a decision about the a-arms.

I was thinking about Laegers or Houser. Is there a difference between them (except of the price)? Or is there a other brand thats good/better?

Well if its going to be for show, I think houser offers a little more eye candy IMO.

houser

Posted by: Ralph.nl

And you duke, also Houser because of the looks?

Posted by: ThumPIN_450R

if you're actually wanting more than looks i would get laeger but if all you want is looks I think lonestar DC-4, walsh, and gibson are the best looking out there.

Posted by: WhiteZee

the new houser slicast a-arms look the best IMO.

Houser does have good looks and I have seen many people running them in xc and no one has complained about them that I have heard. If you are doing the bike for a show I would look at the new slicast arms. They are awesome!! I am also about to accept a sponsorship offer from them, so you know I would pick them , but I wouldn't have sent a resume to them if I hadn't thought they made a great product.

Do you have a link to those slicast arms or a picture maybe? I never seen them.

@ ThumPIN: Why Laeger before Houser?

Posted by: Ralph.nl

Found it http://www.houser-racing.com/sites_...50R_slicast.htm

I'll take a look at it.

Tell both companies your intention and see if they'll be accomodating, either free or a discount.

houser all the way and yep the new slicasts sure are pretty

What do you think?

leager's Pro-traxx would look 1000 times better they are very trick. are you building a XC or mx bike ? because slicast's are only offered in +0.5 over stock.

Posted by: AceLtz

yea i agree, the protraxx are very nice a arms. only bad thing is thier $2600. If your not spending that much id go with the housers like in the pic above. Houser makes some beautiful arms

Becuase I have ridden both and I feel that the laeger handles 10x better than houser and with houser you can only go +2 and laegers are offered in +3. ( it's actually 2 and some fraction but I can't remember what it is and it's close enough to 3 to call it that) The protraxx like I run on my own quad is also the best money can buy hands down. There are others that are better for the money but in total performance with out looking at the price tag the T-pin is where it's at.

Posted by: Ralph.nl

Hmmm that leaves me still in doubt

Its gonna be some kind of baja quad, gonna drive it in the mountains of Spain. Just on gravel roads so wide would be best. I'll take a look at that Protaxx. Thanks!

Posted by: Ralph.nl

@ Iric: Looks sweet, when I see those pictures I get totally confused about what to choose

Posted by: Ralph.nl

Me again I see those Pro Trax include spindles, makes them pretty expensive I'll do a chat with Laegers...

Posted by: Jersey450R

I've been in debate over these two for some time now as well. funny i was going to put up this same thread a while back. i love the housers and i love laegers. houser has the needle bearing design which i'm a big fan for. this is an eni meenie miey moe. LOL

Posted by: Ralph.nl

Hmm didnt see Laegers had bushings, I'm more a fan of needle bearings too, though bushings are cheaper to replace.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Iric your bike looks sweet! Are those +2's? Also are you running stock shocks?

Posted by: ThumPIN_450R

The Protrax has zerk fittings on it so it is greaseable also.

Posted by: bigrichards

i think it would depend on what you are using it for.
if you are racing i would go with roll, walsh or laeger.
trail or dune lsr or houser
my 2 cnts

Yeah, they are +2 with the stock shocks. I am soon getting them revalved. Thanks for the kudos. These Houser arms also have zerks.

Posted by: Ralph.nl

I decided to get the Houser, I'm not sure if its gonna be slicast because they're not available for the 2005 model on this time.

Posted by: weekendracer91

houser

Posted by: 450Redrider5

Houser definitly

Posted by: dirteater74

I have a brand new set of Long travel Housers +2 and Elkas to go with it for $1550 shipped. Look in the for sale section.

Posted by: Ralph.nl

I'm not looking for Elka suspension, getting a Dutch suspension brand, sorry. But thanks for the offer

Posted by: hondardr4life

Protraxx are the best a arms by far. But if you want looks, I kinda like the looks of roll design and gibson.
