my 04 ex wont start unless its in neutral....real frustrating when trail riding!! can I bypass it ?

pull in the clutch

Posted by: EXrobash

i know that....but it wont start unless the neutral light is on. The tranny has to be in neutral

Connect together the two wires from the black box on clutch lever. The quad will start while in gear without the clutch lever pulled in.

just tried it...still nothing. I have a kill switch tied into starter switch also...could that be screwing it up??

The kill switch could be effecting it. It sounds like there is a problem down the line, like the reason you can't start in gear is because the switch on your clutch isn't working properly.

I got it!! I just pulled the wire that plugs into my tranny just above my shifter. I put an electrical connection on it and grounded it to my motor. now the circuit is completed, and I can start by just pulling in the clutch
