265 Power Valve for the Dunes

I found a good deal on a Duncan power valve 265 top end. I mainly ride at the dunes (very little hill shooting) and a little trail riding. Now I have a stock mildly ported cylinder that needs a rebuild. The smoother power band would be nice. Will I get much of a power increase with the power valve 265?
Thanks

you will have a grin on your face the first time you ride it. i have a 265pv friend has 265 non and is amazing the power difference. you have the best of both worlds low end and top. go ahead and get it you will not regret it.

depends on yur riding style. PV's do no good at WOT.

I mostly ride the bowls and time to time I will race up the hills. Everyonce in a while I trail ride. I do like to haul butt a little, but I am a fairly conservative rider.
Thanks for the input.

higley az huh, my bro actually lives out there at power and ray, but i live in north mesa... ive got a 265 pv and i like it and i dune quite a bit... i went from a 100% stock original piston/cylinder to the 265 pv kit, so i dont have a non pv to compare it to. but its a great engine... compared to my stock its quite a bit faster, i noticed it'll pull gears from a lower RPM- before i would have had to downshift but it'll pull em from lower RPMs and will pull itself into the powerband... how much are you picking it up for?

The guy wants $850 for the complete setup, with 3 domes and extra o-rings.
Thanks

that sounds like a good deal to me... does it come with a new piston and everything? i actually need to get a new dome, ive got more compression than what i want/need

It comes with piston and everything to make it run.

sounds like a good deal, especially if the piston is new and the cylinder is in good condition. how many hours does it have on it? has it been bored? i think its a good deal, and i think you'll be happy with the kit.. i had it ported and polished even more than duncan did it.
